Ken Hamlin Visiting Bengals

I can't really complain about them getting Hamlin at all. He would be the depth we don't currently have and like Derek said, he's not long term.

Hamlin never played up to the level he'd shown at Seattle. As a depth move, sure, though I think they really erred by passing over several of the better prospects in the draft.

Ya but he also didn't have a HC like Zimmer look at the guys he had on our Defense last year...He doesn't need the :P superstars he just needs his type of players he can work with

Agree that he's not all of that and some, but he is depth and better than seeing Tom Nelson in a starter's role if it had to happen.

I agree with the thought of them making a mistake passing on a safety that was there. I will be watching Myron Rolle this year...

Fair enough. And I certainly wouldn't have minded seeing him in stripes.

But I can't help but be reminded of how many here were outraged that the Bengals passed on Ko Simpson in the 3rd round back in '06... and how underwhelming his career has been.

"raises his hand" I was one of those people :P rnd 2...rnd 3...rnd 4 :P bills take him awwwww :(

I'll grant you that as well Derek. It's always a role of the dice and as fans, we like to think we know. However, seeing the Bengals talk about AND look at adding depth at the safety position tells me they know, just like the fans, that it's an issue. For that reason, overlooking Rolle in the 6th freakin' round is where I have the most issue. Then again, that's what I think I know...

Taking a WR in the 6th who was a super-productive playmaker in college was a far better move than taking some no-cover SS stiff like Rolle. Myron Rolle is a name, but he has no game. Get over it.

Thanks, I'll get right on that...

For the record, I liked the Briscoe pick, my point was the 5th round pick I wasn't a fan of, but thanks.

Ken Hamlin does not make enough plays on the ball to constitute us signing him, he's not an upgrade over what we have and he is not signing to be on the bench as depth. Bring in Darren Sharper for a visit and that would signify to me that the Bengals are trying to whoop some butt this year. Yes, I have seen Sharper get caught out of position last year but at the same time he is a playmaker and is significantly better then Crocker or Williams.

Gotta disagree key factor is you gotta remember who our current FS is tom nelson love the guy but hewas used and abused.

PS,lets be real here well everyone would love sharper,:P team isn't going to bench crocker this year and isn't going to pay sharper 8 million dollars.

Good call -- that makes a lot more sense doesn't it? Thanks for clearing that up! :)
