The 2 OL we drafted will be PS players along with Eason ( Same size as benson ) and Rey outta duke. I think this team is not aonly extremely awesome But deep as well! Kazkal
I think someone on Dline gets cut and Hubert makes it...I'd go with pretty much same thing but Quan instead of Matt Jones & then I see frostee or Geathers not making it with Hubert or even both cut and 7 lbs with Jeanty. derekshank
I'll be surprised if Miles ends up on the 53 man roster. Not disappointed... just surprised. I don't see him beating out both Nelson and Hebert with what they bring on STs.I also expect Otis to make it. I doubt he'll be active on game day, but I don't think they'll risk losing their 5th round pickby putting him on the practice squad.I'm not of the opinion that Shipley is Cosby's replacement anymore. Shipley's skill set makes him one of the most NFL ready WRs in this draft, and I can see him winning the #3 spot outright. Cosby still has a ton of value as a ST player, which is what you're looking for at the bottom of the WR depth chart.I think if anyone gets the cut, it might be Matt Jones. They brought him in to be a big weapon in the redzone, which after this draft becomes a lot less of a need.I think it might be Chad, Bryant, Shipley, Caldwell, then it will be a dogfight for those last two spots. We'll see if Simpson steps up, or if Matt Jones is able to make an impact. But at least one of those last 2 guys will be a ST guy.I tend to think it will be Cosby and Purify, because thy are both good ST players, Briscoe will go to the PS, and Freddie Brown is a goner. ArmyBengal
I was wondering what everyone was thinking along this line and was going to start a thread about who might be a "surprise" cut to the roster. This thread is going in that direction, so no need. You want a surprise cut, I'd say look along the d-line. With the addition of Dunlap, I think Rucker's day may be at an end. I know people would say Geathers, but I just don't see him getting the axe just yet.I think the 2nd round mistake of Simpson, will come to an end. I look at him the way the Raiders should look at Russell, just cut him and move on. I don't see Hebert getting cut and Nelson assists on ST's as well, so I don't see any change over at the safety position unless they want to go heavy somewhere else. Surprise there would be Ndukwe. kingwilly
At TE, it will be interesting to see if Reggie is re-signed.At LB, I think Hodge sneaks in, maybe Jeanty's injuries do him in.At DE, whether Odom is back in full force will be high on my list of items to watch. At RB, I just don't see the need for a FB. It was not used that often and Cedric runs best in a single back set. Peko can FB when needed. At WR, Chad, Bryant, Caldwell, Jones, Shipley, Quan, and either Briscoe or Purify. I really would like to see more of Freddie Brown in Pre-season... I think they carry 7 WR, simply because they need the flexibility. If Simpson starts to "get it" (low % of that, IMHO), it will be a real battle between Simpson, Briscoe and Purify. The rest I agree with. What a good looking roster! ArmyBengal
Always nice to be able to argue about the level of talent we have and who will be shown the door because of it.The Bears might want to keep an eye on who we show the door, because the old saying of "when one door closes, another one opens" applies here. volcom69
Anybody here think they might move Morgan Trent to saftey with the addition of Ghee. Seems like Marvin thinks there is enough here for the saftey postion, but i just dont see it. Unless they add a free agent of some sort. All those holes ced got...? About 70% were able cuz of JJ.. And he hasnt signed yet so it looks like Fui's the guy... Peko cant play left tackle too which JJ did alot last year... Matt jones will make the squad... I just know it... And while i like quans pro-play, he is more reliable than explosive, unlike ship who is just a badazz white boi! Lol but also i think the only thing we may not need is a #3 qb... That'd help a safety make it...

I think you need to re-watch some games.ON several short yardage plays, JJ busted the hole but the % is flipped, about 25-30% of his runs featured JJ. Cross-training someone can be done, and should be done to open the roster to assure extra depth. At least, that's how I'd do it.

ArmyBengal
Anyway around, I think Simpson is through...If they keep 6 WR's:Chad is a lockBryant is a lockCaldwell- Slot ??Cosby- Slot (ST) ??Shipley- Slot (fine possible #2) ??That leaves Jones, Purify, and Briscoe competing for that last spot. Then again, if Jones shows up and is lights out, Cosby could be the odd man out. We also can't forget that Purify contributes on special teams as well, so this should be interesting. Simpson made the roster, but was seldom (see never) active, so with that being the case, the 5 active above wouldn't hurt my feelings. ArmyBengal
Don't get me wrong, if Matt Jones isn't the crack head he was before and can actually show the God given ability we know he posseses, then sure there will be a spot for him. All I'm saying is, it isn't a foregone conclusion that is going to happen. Honestly, I don't know how the guy got offered a contract after what was called one of the worst workouts ever. I'm mean really. Once again though, I'm all about him getting a chance if they feel he's that guy pre-crack head...
