Kazkal
I don't see how we are going to fit all of these guys on the roster.I think they have np keeping the rookies and its msg no more free rides...going be a hella of a battle for DE spots since seens like MJ be sticking there.4 I think make it Odom, fanene,MJ & dunlap look for geathers and rucker to get cut minus injury or keep 5 de'sPS,is he a olb or slb
HR24
Was hoping for Dickerson or Mitchell, but Muckelroy is a damn fine player and an excellent SLB. This will be our SLB of the future IMO. Jeanty may be on his way out. Jeanty is a good player, but too much of an injury concern. This will allow the move by Rey to MLB.
Kazkal
Mike Mayock131 -- Bengals -- LB Roddrick MuckelroyThe Bengals, with the last pick in the fourth round, took Muckelroy. He's a fifth-year player with 30 career starts and will provide depth for the Bengals linebackers. Dhani Jones is getting up there in years, and this kid will compete for backup time and will

Hard for me to think that because I really like Jeanty as a role player on this team.

ArmyBengal
I've seen Muckelroy listed at all LB positions, but mostly as a WLB. He strikes me as a Brandon Johnson type that also helps on Special Teams. He doesn't strike me as someone that is going to take a starting position from anyone anytime soon. Sea Ray
I think they are mainly counting on Muckelroy to be a special teams ace and not so much to contribute on defense

BlainThePain
Unless Geathers gets him game up, I see him ending up out. Why? He is one of the best 4-3 defensive ends against the run and was top ten in QB hurries last year. If you mean because of lack of sacks, the sack stat is overrated. Lets say he had five or six more sacks last season. That's only five or six plays out of the hundreds he is a part of. Are you telling me that the difference between a great DE and a DE that you want to cut is six plays out of an entire season. Geathers does exactly what he is supposed to in this defense. He plays the run great, he engages the tackle every play to free up the linebackers, and he gets in the QB's face.

As a huge pimp of Lonhorn defenders like Orakpo and Kindle I can tell you Muckelroy isn't nearly the NFL prospect those guys were, but when watching them I always noted how many plays Muckelroy was making. Very solid....without much upside. Not sure what that gets 'em, but he's too good to dismiss as a potential down the road starter.

jjakq27
I think this is one of Marvin's "cycling guys through the system" picks. Start out on specials teams and work your way up. See Brandon Johnson.

Considering there are 64 starting defensive ends in the NFL, its still pretty impressive. If we cut Geathers and he went to the Titans he would be a 10+ sack guy next season. Like I said above, he does exactly what he is supposed to do in this system. Engage the tackle, control both of his run gaps, contain the outside, and get in the QB's face. We get rid of Geathers and you will see the team's sacks go down.

Justin could atleast pull 5+ sacks in that roll,I Like Geathers I really don't wanna see him go but when he's making as much as he is and is purely a RUnning downs end he feels expandable because most of our DE's are Elephant/Running down ends. We get rid of Geathers and you will see the team's sacks go down.I disagree. To the extent he plays the run well, yes, I think he does a good job there, however, with the quality of the CB's on this team, and the limited use of zone blitz, he has failed to produce the pressures/sacks that warrant him starting and being paid at the level he is. It is just not worth it.To compare, Fanene and Rucker flash FAR more in their limited appearances and use.Adding Dunlap to the DE mix, to me, indicates two things: they are hedging against Odom being 100%, and that Geathers is not producing as much as they need...Seriously, not even coverage sacks for Geathers...? I know we are off topic, but I think Geathers has been a bust since his big new contract.
Kazkal
Seriously, not even coverage sacks for Geathers...?Lord only knows that everyone else was able to get some coverage sacks...part reason excited about this draft upgrades in passrush if we could rush the passer better think how much better our CB's will look? vs our CB's having to make our Ends look decent.
