Tiger Stripes Posted July 14, 2004 Report Posted July 14, 2004 this weekend palmer is participating in the qb challenge it will be very interresting to see how he does. :player: Quote
BadLuck Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Honestly, I expect he'll do extremely well for a second year guy. Palmer has excellent timing, accuracy and arm strength.. just as good as anyone in the NFL, and he makes great reads on defenses. The only knock against Palmer is his mediocre college career numbers and his tendency to lock on a receiver rather than keeping an eye on everyone... neither of those things should come into play during the challenge. wookie Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Agreed...Palmer will represent!!!His college numbers were better his senior year...the only season he got to play the same system from the year before. I think it made a difference. Quote
BadLuck Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Definately. A consistant system to work with really improves anyone's play, especially the QB. That's why sitting Palmer was such a great idea, actually. 2 years in the same system can make a phenominal difference, as shown by his college numbers. Quote
bengalsfan33 Posted July 15, 2004 Report Posted July 15, 2004 Palmer will do great. Will it be televised? Quote

EdwardG Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 Didn't Jeff Blake always do well in those? Quote
The Brew Man Posted July 16, 2004 Report Posted July 16, 2004 Sweet, should be fun to watch..... :player: Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 Didn't Jeff Blake always do well in those?Jesus. If Blake always did well I hope Carson stinks the place out in the Challenge. I want no parallels between the two! :player: Quote

BengalszoneBilly Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 I'm thinking that Palmer said he didn't do very well in the challenge. Whew! Thanks for making me feel better Terry! Quote
B24 Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 Palmer didn't do to well on the first day. He's in 7th place I think. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted July 17, 2004 Report Posted July 17, 2004 Palmer didn't do to well on the first day. He's in 7th place I think. What I DID notice is when Carson had to hit the reciever on the deep route, he hit him in perfect stride, even though the throw was slightly too long to be ruled inbounds! That's something Kitna would be totally incapable of. Quote
Tiger Stripes Posted July 17, 2004 Author Report Posted July 17, 2004 i noticed that long ball also Quote

chrishcovga Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 Looked nervous on the accuracy drills. Long ball probably gave some AFCNorth defensive coordinators a collective gasp! - Looked really good in the scrambling drill . Quote
skyline Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 just saw palmer throw it 65 yards...very good to see. Quote
Tiger Stripes Posted July 18, 2004 Author Report Posted July 18, 2004 yea winnin the long ball drill so far Quote
B24 Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 Palmer won the long ball competition. He did terrible in the no huddle comp. though. He ended up 6th overall in the challenge. Quote
bengalsfan33 Posted July 18, 2004 Report Posted July 18, 2004 Hasselback won it!! and Carson Palmer won the long distance throw!!This is good to hear. Quote
redsfan2 Posted July 19, 2004 Report Posted July 19, 2004 Palmer didn't do to well on the first day. He's in 7th place I think. What I DID notice is when Carson had to hit the reciever on the deep route, he hit him in perfect stride, even though the throw was slightly too long to be ruled inbounds! That's something Kitna would be totally incapable of. Even when he was heaving it 65 yards, it just didn't look like he was throwing that hard. Kinda like Griffeys homers. It never looks like he swung that hard. Lots of natural ability combined with good coaching. Quote
