ArmyBengal
And with that, MemBengal has Oakland on the clock.Detroit went OT as opposed to DT and McCoy saw the drop. Not totally out of the rhelm of possibility and certainly would present a safer pick for the Lions and addresses what I would believe to be a bigger need as well. That's why I really don't have a problem with it. Just me though...

Kazkal
With the 7th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns select...Earl Thomas, S, TexasWith their #1 choice in Eric Berry off the boards, the Browns pick the player some say is the #1 safety in the draft. Their secondary badly needs a playmaker and with Thomas' mix of speed, cover abilities, and ball skills, he's a no-brainer here for the Browns. A bit of a reach but it takes care of a glaring need in the AFCN with the receiving threats that exist between CIN, BAL, and PIT.Wow.Well doesn't suprised me good chance Berry is gone at 7# and Mayock I think had Earl rated higher,Though Mayock is just one of draft Guro's he does seem have a better insight then Kiper. derekshank
I kind of thought the reason that a lot of mock drafts had Berry going to Cleveland wasn't because it was Cleveland's biggest need, but because he clearly represented the most talented player available.I could easily see the Browns wanting to trade down and get more picks... but since that wasn't an option here - anything goes... although I think Haden would have been a little more likely than Thomas. That's why I really don't have a problem with it. Just me though...It's not an option in our draft, but if Detroit doesn't take a DT (Suh) they should not keep that pick. They have many needs, and if they wanted an Offensive Tackle, they could very easily trade back and get a good OT. There looks to be about 7 Offensive Tackles that could be drafted in Round 1. Russell Okung Oklahoma St.Trent Williams OklahomaBryan Bulaga IowaBruce Campbell MarylandAnthony Davis RutgersCharles Brown USCRodger Saffold IndianaDetroit could dangle the premier DT in the draft among every other team, and pick up additional high picks. I also think the Top 4 OT's are very solid from Okung to Campbell.

I dont really agree with it but hell you never knowYeah, the Browns in reality would take Berry but he is off the boards. The only other pick that they could use is McClain at LB. They don't like Claussen and they're not in position to take the BPA. Have you seen their secondary? (if you can call it that) He also could play CB and IMO he's much more NFL ready than Joe Haden.Idk,.. Haden wont have to be the #1... Cuz the browns got the guy from the eagles... So who knows. But i am pretty sure they get a DB... Good choice on the position. We'll see which one
ArmyBengal
For what it's worth from my standpoint, there has been much conversation lately about what happens to the Browns should Berry be gone. Many think they will make every effort to trade down, but if that requires takers and if there are none, they made mention they could very well end up taking Thomas right there. As for Detroit, again, if there are takers i'm sure they would love to trade down and while there are a bunch of OT's in this draft, it's not out of the scope of possibility to see them take the top rated OT and protect their multi million dollar arm they drafted last year. Detroit's o-line has been in shambles for quite some time and once again, it would be a safe pick if there are no takers for a trade.EDIT: Please keep the conversation about the picks in this thread. I'm deleting them from the other.

ArmyBengal
I had a really bad day and I'm going to call an end to the misery that was today. That being said (MODS), feel free to make the pick for Mem if he doesn't show or give benefit of the doubt until tomorrow if you so desire. It was a pretty good way to start this thing off today, so I have no issue either way.Later... Kazkal
How in the hell would McCoy slip to #6?No way that happens in the real deal.Well it's possible all it takes is lions not able to trade down and them really wanting a left tackle to protect their franchise QB.If I was a lions fan I'd have np with that More time the QB has throw the more bombs Calvin is going to catch.PS,Was watching path to the draft and there was some talk about Earl going to Cleveland in one of their Mock Drafts...Mike Mayock also rates him 6 out of his top 20 prospects where Berry was 8 or 9...I know hes just a talking head but seems to more knowledgeable then Kiper and the other "draft gurus"
redsbengalsbucks
I will be out of the lab for about 1 hour, so Mem can have some extra time. I wont be able to make my pick for the Bills earlier than 9:30.Well, I was able to wrap the outside work up sooner than I thought, I am back and ready whenever to make the Bills #9 pick. BengalPimp
Bulaga going to the Raiders will remind everyone about Robert Gallery.I don't know if the Raiders want to get burned by another Iowa Tackle (see Gallery). If they do take Bulaga, he doesn't work out at Tackle and they move him to Guard like Gallery, they will be the first team in recent memory to have 2 Guards drafted in the Top 8 (Gallery #2 overall & Bulaga #8)If anyone can ruin players.....its' the Raiders ! They might still be trying to shop Brandon Marshall, and if they are successful, Dez Bryant would seem like the obvious choice.
