jjakq27 Posted November 9, 2009 Report Share Posted November 9, 2009 Someday soon I hope the NFL or even the NCAA will commission someone to put a chip the football and then lay out a wire grid or use GPS to eliminate the continual inaccuracy of ball placement, first downs, breaking-the-plane and other similar situations. You could probably even put sensors in knee pads to see where the ball was when the knee touched down. A small hand-held device would give the refs the necessary data to get it right and speed up the game.Might seem a little far fetched but it's obvious that the speed of the game has surpassed what many of the refs are able to keep up with.
