Time to update the technology

Someday soon I hope the NFL or even the NCAA will commission someone to put a chip the football and then lay out a wire grid or use GPS to eliminate the continual inaccuracy of ball placement, first downs, breaking-the-plane and other similar situations. You could probably even put sensors in knee pads to see where the ball was when the knee touched down. A small hand-held device would give the refs the necessary data to get it right and speed up the game.

Might seem a little far fetched but it's obvious that the speed of the game has surpassed what many of the refs are able to keep up with.

The Steelers would never go for that.

Why because it makes cheating or whining to get your way more difficult?
