Dadraftnick
With Andre Smith coming in late- if he is ever signed- maybe the best thing would be for him to play LT.In breaking every play of the first two games in slow motion , I am very worried about Carson's health.I think that Whitworth is better suited to play RT, I just dont know if he has what it takes to take on every teams best pass rusher.Whitworth's guy last night was Grant and he had a hell of a game for a guy that should have been occupied by Whitworth. If Andre Smith came in tommorow he will still have to learn every play in the Bengals playbook in a very short period of time, not to mention all of the fine points that go with playing Pro-Football vs. NCAA Football.Add on that learning a new position (RTvs.LT)which makes it even harder because everything that he has been doing for years must now be done backwards. All things considered, I think the best think to do with Smith is leave him at LT and move Whitworth to RT or leave Collins there.- or have him back up the LT until the break- IF HE IS EVER SIGNED. The Bengals have already made up their minds where he's going to play if he doesn't sit and re-enter the draft next year.

I do know that Whit appeared to play his best at RT, as a rookie.
BlainThePain
I know it's just preseason, but Whitworth has done a spectacular job at LT so far. Watch the games and just pay attention to him because his man is never even close to being part of the play on passing and running plays. He has been, by far, the best performer on the O-line. Kazkal
I'd prefer not because for me Collins is the weak link atm imo....was rewatching patriots game and he had little to no impact on every play.
ArmyBengal
Not to mention if the Bengals were to say they were going to make the switch for him to go back to LT, it would gum up the negotiations further because then Keels would say he should get LT money. He was going toe to toe with Vince Wilford
BlainThePain
The more I think about it, the more I see Andre Smith playing left guard this season. Like I've said, even though he has done a decent job, Livings has been the weak spot on the line so far.Andre moves extremely well for a big man, and I have no doubt that he could pull. I think he'll win the starting left guard position after the bye week, and will stay there for the season unless one of the tackles is injured. kingwilly
Whit - Smith - Cook - William - Collinswith Koistra/Livings/Roland/Luigis for depth...that is not half-bad.Until SMith can get signed and prove he should be there, it may be that they load up whit and roland on the left...massive. volcom69
Cook has been wonderful up to this point i think he has been fantastic. I still wanna see Roland in the mix to start RT if Smith isnt going to be here to play. I wonder if this team will run the no-huddle at all this year with cook at center, i really hope they do. They have some weird zone blocking scheme where he pulls to the other side of the right tackle. Livings was the one blocking Charles Grant when he hit Carson in the ankles, and he pulled on one play during the Pats game where he completely missed the blitzing linebacker.
