ArmyBengal
Here's something interesting...Bills receiver Terrell Owens, whose reality show has been languishing in the ratings, recently explained that the Nielsen-generated numbers are misleading because they're determined only by houses with "special boxes" attached to their televisions. Those "special boxes" apparently like the Bengals. The team announced that Cincinnati's team outperformed America's team during the season debut of Hard Knocks on HBO.The 1.66 national rating represented a 28-percent increase over the first episode of last year's Hard Knocks, featuring the Dallas Cowboys. The increase was even greater in the demographic containing males age 25-54. The show generated a 1.99 rating for that group, a 43-percent increase over last year's premiere.Coincidentally, T.O. was a central figure in last year's Cowboys.Maybe Ochocinco should be the one with a reality show. And the name undoubtedly would be Child Please, which as Ochocinco pointed out during the Hard Knocks debut is a polite way of saying, "F--k you."/>http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/08/19/the-special-boxes-like-the-bengals/
HairOnFire
Not that it matters much, but this years version of Hard Knocks is a critical hit as well. I've seen several reviews so far and each points out how compelling the debut was when compared to too familiar teams featuring too familiar stars. In fact, there was a blurb in the Los Angeles Times about how Reggie Kelly's injury brought the viewer almost to tears even though the writer later admitted he didn't have a clue who Kelly was.
