HairOnFire Posted August 7, 2009 Report Posted August 7, 2009 I haven't heard anything about Rivers, but Maualuga (Hamstring)and Rucker (Hip)are dinged. Quote
gregstephens Posted August 7, 2009 Author Report Posted August 7, 2009 First team offense, first series. Benson looked good, rattling off a couple good runs. Got Cheech lining up in TJ's spot, surprisingly. Having trouble getting plays off. One time out and one delay of game already. Quote
gregstephens Posted August 7, 2009 Author Report Posted August 7, 2009 Chris Crocker picked off CP. Twenty yard run back. No real passing progress yet. One defensive PI penalty. No big plays. Quote
gregstephens Posted August 7, 2009 Author Report Posted August 7, 2009 Michael Johnson's looking good. Quick penetration. Two sacks so far. Quote
gregstephens Posted August 7, 2009 Author Report Posted August 7, 2009 Dorsey just burned off a fifty-plus run for a score. Good speed and the line pulled well for the holes. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted August 7, 2009 Report Posted August 7, 2009 Nice to see Johnson doing something - his 2nd sack was apparently legit (1st was a gimmne on a bad snap).Brian Leonard with a nice run.Bernard Scott is already hurt (prior to scrimmage) with a dinged shoulder.38 yard TD for DeDe Dorsey - big hole, but no one catches Dorsey, if that guy could just stay healthy, ugh, so talented... Quote
gregstephens Posted August 7, 2009 Author Report Posted August 7, 2009 New punter has decent leg. Step up from Larson. Quote

Regardless, he has that Michael Turner/Darren Sproul quality. Quote
gregstephens Posted August 7, 2009 Author Report Posted August 7, 2009 ...And the shovel pass lives. Good gain though. Johnson did good job on it. Quote
gregstephens Posted August 7, 2009 Author Report Posted August 7, 2009 J.T. takes in a decent run. Better scrambling option than Ryan FitzKosar was last year. Quote
gregstephens Posted August 7, 2009 Author Report Posted August 7, 2009 Leonard is tough. He scruffs for every extra yard. Quote
HairOnFire Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 I couldn't get the 1530homer link to work until the scrimmage was nearly over...so about all I managed to hear was the FG kicking flourish at the end. But I did manage to hear Lapham remark about not seeing a single injury, serious or minor. Frankly, that's all I cared about. Quote

But I did manage to hear Lapham remark about not seeing a single injury, serious or minor. Frankly, that's all I cared about.I left right before the FGs started. No injuries, no major issues. Running game looked a lot better than last year. Carson didn't throw a lot deep, but when he did, it looked crisp. Defense looked pretty good. Overall solid effort. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 Once again, let me throw out a thank you for those keeping up on this !!!Well done !!! Quote
HairOnFire Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 I left right before the FGs started. Opie made a 52 yarder, but missed several shorter kicks....wide....and to the left. Wide...and to the left. Quote
ArmyBengal Posted August 8, 2009 Report Posted August 8, 2009 Apparently Shayne also hit a 48 yarder in the mock game they had going today as well. Quote

Wide...and to the left.As I was going to the car I could hear Johanson over the loud speaker announcing he'd chipped a 35 yarder left. I was actually glad I was hitting the bricks at that point. Disappointed about Rey Rey.Don't worry, they'll unleash the Beast (Maualuga) soon enough.Just not against their own offense. You know what I could see them sitting Rey because of that,Sorry Rey but you'll have to wait till the preseason because we prefer you don't cause any injury's to other players. I'm thinking the LB version of Polomolu with a larger chip on his shoulder. Quote
