PhunkE1
If the Bengals take Wells at #6 I'm done with this franchise. He's not even the #1 RB in this years class, IMHO. Taking Wells about 15-20 picks too early would be a HUGE mistake! I'm hoping this is just a smoke screen. I live in ATL, so I guess I'll just go out and buy a Matt Ryan jersey if they draft Wells.RotoworldOhio State RB Beanie Wells is reportedly "high on the Bengals'" list and will be a consideration with the No. 6 overall pick.Wells isn't expected to go before the mid-first round, but the Bengals are always a wild card. It's also worth noting owner Mike Brown's infatuation with Big Ten players, one of the reasons the team ended up with Chris Perry back in 2004. Shon Green or Javon Ringer would be the big Ten RB's I would want as everydown backs and again #6 is a little early for them.
PhunkE1
I just don't have the faith in our scouting department to take a RB #1. The chances of us finding a gem at one of the harder positions to fill after round #3 is slim to none. We can find a servicable RB on day 2, but what we can't find is a servicable C, OT or DT on day two. I agree that the book is still out on ACollins and JShirley, but if even one of the two becomes a good NFL player I'll be surprised. Take an OT or Raji at #6 please!!! Wraith
Um...Carson Palmer was a pretty good pick as was Leon Hall and Johnathon Joseph, Pollack would have been great 'cept for a freak accident that certainly could not be pinned on any shortcomings from a Bengals standpoint. A 1st round QB is totally different than a 1st round RB. Like I stated above, I don't have enough faith in our scouting dept. to find a NFL caliber DT or OT in the later rounds, so I'd like them to take one of the two positions in the 1st. RB's are a dime a dozen, so I wouldn't want to waste a pick on an injury prone RB in round 1.
membengal
I don't really feel all that strongly about this draft or what the bengals should do.With this exception...NO f**kin' way to f**kin' away their #1 pick on Beanie Wells. BlainThePain
Smoke screens...please let it be smoke screens......I think you could use Chris Perry and David Pollack as proof that this is a smoke screen. Nobody even had a hint that the Bengals liked Chris Perry or David Pollack when we drafted them.
Whur CHad At?
I love Beanie Wells and I think it is unfair to think he is below a top 10 pick. The Man-Child can play. Look at tape. But I think we have so many other areas to look at but RB does need to be addressed.
Kazkal
Well Larry Johnson did go 27th.... but then again Cedric Benson and Rhonnie brown went top 4 so you never know...
UF_Gators_15
While I would rather have somebody else b/c I agree that you can get a RB in the 3rd or 4th round, I am getting quite sick of this BS from these gay ass Bengals fans about "If they do this I'm done" Shut the hell up and leave already! While I would rather have someone else with the #6 overall selection than a back that couldn't stay healthy in college, well neither could Adrian Peterson and look how that panned out! I would support any player this team drafts b/c that's what a fan does, supports the team no matter wut, just leave but don't come back after Mike Brown dies and the Glory days begin. Nobody even had a hint that the Bengals liked Chris Perry or David Pollack when we drafted them.....or Levi Jones, Jonathan Joseph and Leon Hall, for that matter. You can even take it a step further in the widely reported speculation from various sources that Derrick Harvey would've been the pick last year, had not Jacksonville traded up to snag him. I totally expect the Bengals pick to be somebody way out of left field, in the Everette Brown/Aaron Maybin/Jeremy Maclin mold. I guess you could say whoever they deem to be the highest character (safe pick) guy.
mgilgris
While I am a fan of the buckeyes but .... I want no part of Beanie Wells. Correct me if I am wrong.... the last great RB from Michigan .....??? Been awhile.

How many 1st round OSU RB busts are there? You named the only two 1st round RB's in the past 20 years. Prior to that is was Keith Byars ('86) and Archie Griffen ('76).That being said - he has no business being a top 15 pick. If he drops to the 2nd round, we can talk. But the #6 pick is no place for Wells.

That's just not how it works. I'm venting here. I consider it a little therapy for the mental anguish Mike Brown has inflicted. Believe me these are just empty threats. I really don't think I could have made it this long as a Bengals fan if I wasn't allowed to bitch.
BTG
I would be so happy if we drafted him. I mean, he's exactly what we look for in a running back: an injury-prone Big Ten running back with slightly above average speed. Whur CHad At?
We should think about it at 6, because we do not know what Cedric Benson we will be getting this year. Either getting the guy we got last year, or the Bears Benson, lazy, out of shape, and drunk. It should be considered but only if the two top tackles are off the board.
