Buffalo made him an offer and gave him a deadline to accept the offer, otherwise they're pulling it off the table. His visit here was only made to see if we would exceed Buffalo's offer and create a market for him.

Plus, the guy is a headcase, at best.

I know he got dealt a bad hand, but all things considered, I will pass on Coles.

Rotoworld.com says if we don't get Coles we will bring in Ashley Lelie and Mike Furry in for visits.

I for one can't stand Lelie and I think he is a huge downgrade over Glen Holt, but I was touting Mike Furry on here a couple weeks ago and I would love to have him. He has similiar skills as TJ and he is a warrior. I watched him play a couple seasons ago when he had a lot of catches and he is a pumped up guy who gets crazy on defenses!

If we sign Coles, we can finally put away this talk about Crabtree.

And, to some of you who think that we need a Center more than WR, or that we are stacked at WR. Apparantly we are not.

I am not convinced we are set at WR either, but Center and RB is defiantly a bigger need area. The reason being is we don't have any that are worth a s**t. I hope that we draft Crabtree and trade Chad. I want Moreno with a mid-first pick!

Why does everyone keep assuming that if we traded Chad, we'd get a 1st-round pick? I would love to see it happen, but I'm not so sure that it would be an automatic thing after last season.

On a similar note, how nice would it have been to have the Redskins pick this year and next?

Chad played with a QB last year that couldn't throw the ball more than fifteen yards down field. Chad also happened to be injured for the majority of the year. Some GM is going to consider this when they make a trade. Another reason I think this is because look at Moss. He had a couple really bad years in Oakland and everyone thinks he was washed up and he comes back with a good qb and breaks the TD record in a season. GM's will look it and this and chalk Chad's bad year up to circumstance.

With the 13th pick (Aquired from the Redskins, who take it as a discount since they were willing to give up more last year) the Bengals take Knowshown Moreno from Georgia......Who has been compared to LT

I don't understand where people are comparing him to Chris Perry and calling Perry a small back

The guy is 6'0 224 lbs which is pretty big for a RB

You use Moss as the example, but the Raiders only got a 4th-round pick for him. Yes, he's done well, so does that because of that, Chad is worth a 1st rounder?

I hope we sign Coles just so that I can know that we won't draft a WR with the 6th pick. If we don't go OL in 2 of the first 3 picks, I may just give up hope.

It's because raiders would have cut him had they not traded him more then likely...Bengals have taken a hard stance and if someone wants chad have offer more then a 4th.

Ashley Lelie-WR- Raiders Mar. 3 - 7:08 pm et

Presumably as fallback plans if they don't sign Laveranues Coles, the Bengals have set up visits for free agents Ashley Lelie and Mike Furrey.

Both receivers knows the routes calls Cincinnati uses after playing under Mike Martz, who has similar terminology. Lelie caught 11 passes in '08.

I think the combination of giving away Moss and then seeing him break that record coupled with all the horrible signings from last offseason have caused Al Davis to rethink his strategy. I think we will see a marked improvement in the Raiders over the next couple seasons. I hope if we don't trade Crabtree that we trade down to someone that wants him so the Raiders don't get him!

Furry is EXACTLY the kind of guy the Bengals will bring in and to tell you the truth, I think Furry would do well here, but Henderson wouldn't bother me either...

i agree, he's a poor man's wes welker. puts his body on the line, plays with passion, the blue collar kind of guy this team sorely needs.
