Cedric Benson to visit the Texans

Dude,

Fu** Cedric Benson. I just read this garbage that he said:

Benson said when asked why he preferred the Texans. “Also, there’s the Super Bowl. I had an opportunity to go to one (with Chicago), and I’d like to go back and win.”

Like the Houston Texans have a better shot at the Superbowl than we do? Draft Crabtree, trade Chad and draft Moreno!

NEXT question please.....

Because high powered offense is going to get there? Pass on taking WR & RB with our first 2 picks

Based off what the Colts did two years ago, it could. And did anyone want to play us in 2006 playoffs before Carson went down?

Trust me, I am all about the defense, but we aren't going to win the Superbowl this coming season, but if we follow the above plan we will cement our offense (Minus the line) for the rest of his career. We could add defensive depth and offensive line depth in the rest of the draft. Then next year we solidify our Oline and our young guns will be a year older and ready to kill the league. Then we will have a 30 year old QB, a young strong defense, and an offense ready to take over the league and win a superbowl!

Well what is your plan Kaz? I mean we have no weapons(Okay Stinko) so what should we do with those first two picks?

Sign Coles, Draft Defense playmaker and a Center...Do we want a high powered offense that will get Carson Palmer back in a probowl or do we want to continuing to improve our defense and get him to a superbowl?

PS,Bengals still can resign Cedric they need simply need figure out how much to keep Benson a Bengal rather then going back home.

It shouldn't cost to much to keep him, the Texans aren't going to give him starter money. They could get him back for 4 years at 16 million. I wouldn't guarantee to much of the contract.

That's Peyton Manning for one thing the other is the Colts Defense won the superbowl....They have two of the best pass rushing ends in football we were ranked 31st in passrush and it's been this bad for 6 years now...

Everyone get this through your skulls....Benson will not be back. Our offense is weak. We need playmakers. Trade Chad for a second get a friggen center.

Jason Brown would have been nice, so we wouldn't be having this conversation. Instead they wasted their time with a dude with a pony tail that never wanted to be here in the first place!

4 years $16 Million!!! Well at that price I say f**k that

That was obviously a high end price. I am just going based off what Ward got (Who had more yards and is much more reliable than Benson.) I am sure he won't get that much, but that would be the top level he could get!

What else are we going to spend the money on? People were rdy to franchise him so 4million a year isn't that bad.

Well ah Gee...Ward signed for pretty much the same offer. So obviously we won't spend it. Plus Benson doesnt wanna be here anyway. So wee need to stop wasting our time. He is a lazy peice of you know what. He doesnt wanna carry the full load.

They were the only team in the history of the NFL to allow 100 yards rushing in every game of the season and still win the superbowl. While I agree that Peyton is the greatest QB of my lifetime (That I can remember, I was born when Marino was a rookie) and possibly the greatest ever. I do think that Carson can play with him and he is just as capable as running an equally strong offense as Peyton is. The defense did have two pass rushers, but the reason they won the Superbowl is because of Bob Sanders. He came in and took over in the playoffs. They were ranked so crappy all year because he was hurt.

My point was that we could win with a high powered offense, especially if we had a number 12 ranked defense or higher!

Oh I a know...I am just going off what most peoples reaction are going to be to that statement.

ut we aren't going to win the Superbowl this coming season,

So Continue to improve the Oline & Defense and then let Simpson and Caldwell are develop vs writing them off..

Pretty much, we haven't to plan the team on a two year plan. I think the Bengals either understand that or are clueless. Either way, if they thought they could win it this year they would have spent the money on Brown and made some other big splashes. Draft the BPA at the positions of need and then hope that we get what we don't get this season next.

I don't think the Bengals are that high on Benson either or they would have been beating down doors to sign him, smart move on their part don't pay that head case starter money. Nobody is begging Benson to come play for them, he had three good games against three non playoff teams probably would not have got off the couch last year if it wasn't for the Bengals. I don't want to hear that he was running behind a bad line when we have more evidence of him being weak up at Chicago when Thomas Jones was beasting behind the same line. Stay the course Bengals don't over pay for him he doesn't have any leverage, if he wants to go to the Texans and be a backup let him all that shows me is to paraphrase the great Dennis Green " he is what I thought he was".

Cedric Benson - RB Mar. 3 - 9:18 am et

Cedric Benson labeled his possibility of signing with the Texans as "good."

"I feel good about this," Benson said. "There’s a lot of good things about being in Texas and Houston. I like being close to home and around people who have supported me." Keep in mind that Benson's sense of reality has been found wanting since he's entered the league, and the Texans let him leave without a contract offer.

That's too funny he is trying to play hardball with the Bengals by trying to throw the Texans in the equation, Ced your not fooling anybody you can't play mind games if your mind is not right. If I was the Bengals I would tell him good luck thanks for your services last year, go play mind games with Ricky Williams or something.

There are a lot of easier guys to scam than Mike Brown. When it comes to contract negotiations, the guy wasn't born yesterday. I've long believed that that is one reason agents don't like dealing with him. Yes, he's cheap. But he's also too smart and experienced for the typical agent to pull some of the bulls**t they get away with at other teams.

One exception: The contract extension RedHouse got him to sign for Chad a few years ago. That went against normal Mike Brown rules.
