HoosierCat
http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=7195Yeah, I think we can pretty much call it a year for Carson...

Alright...I figured Carson is probably out the rest of the season. If that is indeed what most are thinking, and I think it is, why sign Jeff Rowe? There are no other free agent QBs out there we could take a look at? Crap, isn't Kyle Boller or Joey Harrington still out there? And I know they aren't great, but they have starting QB experience. This tells me they are writing this season completely off if they aren't looking to get a more realistic option behind center than Fitz. Ickey44
Why not write the season off? They'd have to win every game left to even have a shot at the playoffs.

If this team goes 2-14, or even worse which is possible, it's going to be awfully hard to amp it back up in 2009. One of those other guys can be had cheap, maybe help win 5 or 6 games and at least give the illusion someone in this d@mn organization gives a crap! Ickey44
I'd rather they start getting guys ready for next year. Put in some backup lineman and see if they do better than the starters. They sure couldn't do much worse. Put in the rookie WR's. Put in Shirley. Keep playing Sims. That sort of thing. This season is lost. Any head start they can get on next year is a plus. Pidge
I kinda hope for the WRs to be given time this season - in fact start 'em every game but, yeah - Palmer Jr, Rowe or Fitz. They might actually regress trying to play with those QBs.
Ickey44
Perhaps, but they'll get a lot of experience run blocking, running routes, and trying to catch erratically thrown passes in real game situations which can only make them better players.......I hope. And he's hurt.

Their second seasons couldn't be any harder than this one. The only way is up!

Jet23
Damn it, I had Erik Wilhelm. Who had Jeff Rowe in the Crappy Recyclable Bengals Quarterback poll?
kingwilly
Rowe looks like a dunce but I recall him playing it up in preseason.I don't see how he could be worse than Fitzfumble. Is Anthony Wright out there? How about J-Load?Harrington and Boller? no way...At least make a circus of it...

How about J-Load?Harrington and Boller? no way...At least make a circus of it...I think Wright took J-Load's place in NY. Load should be available, however. I liked Wright. How about the other Hasselbeck, whatever his name was.Harrington and Boller aren't that bad. Like I said, they have starting experience, Harrington knows what it's like being behind crappy lines and both would be expendable (in the 'getting killed' sense, not the 'releasing them at the end' sense).
