jonahdsage
I was reading one of the front page articles about, surprise of surprises, the bengals' offense's incapability to keep up with our improving defense this season. Everything I read that mentions Brat and our offense consistently mentions the vanilla play calling and the lack of the deep ball. We could blame that on Carson's mysterious elbow issue, but that doesn't explain the first four games of the season.Any realistic chance we heave ho brat during the bye week? I don't really know much about the offensive coordinator market. Is there any viable candidates out there that would make this an attractive answer? For that last question please keep comments like "well my grandma, who's blind and in a wheel chair, retired in '87 and has lots of free time," to a minimum. The answer to your question would be...nope. Not a chance.
jjakq27
Nope for several reasons.Brat runs the same offense that Chad and TJ had at Oregon State. With the amount of money invested in those two, I can't see them kicking him out during the season. Now they could do something like having Zampese call the plays but that isn't likely. If Marvin was an offensive coach that could happen but since he is the defensive svengali that nixes that option too.Another angle is all of the turnover on offense. Dave Lapham was on Lance's show this afternoon and mentioned all of the "packages" that Brat had to prepare this week. One for Chris Henry, one for Cendric Benson, one for Carson (with bum elbow) and one for Fitzpatrick. So he is limited by the lack of continuity on that side of the ball. All of which will be cited at the end of the season when he gets an extension.

GregCook
No chance this season. Afterwards, he's gone. Same for a couple others. Why say the defense is improving? After Dallas it is once again one of the NFL's worst.

What about Brian Bellick, the former coach for the Ravens?

That way we don't bring in a new OC now who has to design a plan around prominent starters who won't be around for long enough for it to be worthwhile. Bah, never mind. Kick his ass to the curb today.
