Maybe something changed with Ghiaciuc that we aren't privy to. It isn't like Marvin and Co are a fountain of player info when the info is bad news - quite the opposite.

Really, if they felt he could not start this year, they should have drafted a Center or at least not let the backup leave via FA....so I'll assume for now that something (unknown\undisclosed) occurred more recently that heightened this concern

Maybe they thought that the battle between Ghiaciuc and Santucci would produce at least one average starter, as they pushed each other to get better/stonger, and not only did this gamble not work, but Santucci went and got himself hurt to boot.

I'd say there is a better than 50% chance that we'll see a veteran center plucked off the preseason waiver wire.

Step got released or not resigned? Hmm... missed that one. I'm more confident with Jurassic than E.G. (that is if Bobbie can adjust quickly)... it will be harder than he is letting on. Let's see how preseason 3 goes. If it goes poorly, we probably won't see much of Jurassic in the season.
