Scottishbengal
A) It is really a shame what years of losing can do to the most loyal fan: turn them into a skeptic. I'm a lifer with the benefit of season tickets since 1968 when I was 11 to getting my own in 1980. No matter what else happens I always see the glass as half full at the start of the season. C) You need to take a leap of faith. You can't give up on your team before the season even starts. I'd rather be disappointed later if they struggle then to suffer needlessly before there is a reason to.D) All teams are Super Bowl contenders as we speak. The Bengals have the talent to win a Championship. The difference between the best and the worst teams in the NFL is very little and sometimes it's a matter a fortune. Ask the Giants.Who Dey!!!!!!!Are you ready for some football!!!Let's get this party started!!!Welcome to the Jungle!!!It's football season! It's the best season of the year. If you can't get excited now you must be dead.Retorts:-A) I am loyal, I've stuck by this team since 1984 (when football first came to British TV). I've spent a small fortune and lots of holiday time crossing the Atlantic to see the Bengals. I've brought up a family on a diet of orange and black and increased the Bengals following by a few. I prefer the term "realistic" to skeptic. If the glass is half full then it's your round and I'll have a pint. But I prefer to drink beer rather than p1ss.C) Give up on my team? NEVER! Christ, I'd let the English take Edinburgh castle before I gave up on my team. Each and every game I'll be cheering 'em on - very loudly, possibly drunkenly!D) It is true that all teams are equal. It's just that some are more equal than others. After 5 years we are still awaiting marvins defensive genius to materialise and this year ALL the hopes are pinned on Rivers - a rookie! The O can live with anyone on their day but the D leaves a lot to be desired.Come the season kick-off I shall stand proud, yelling WhoDey, legs akimbo waiting for the booted foot of fate to deliver me one right in the happy sack. As it does every year. But I'll still be yelling WhoDey.
buck3y3d
This is probably the most athletically gifted team the bengals have ever fielded. However, this team appears as uncertain and disorganized as the teams of the 90s. I'm sure they will put it all together, but that might happen week 12. If that's the case, 7-9 is probably realistic. If the defense pulls together, Carson returns to manager, and we can convert 3rd downs, the Bengals will be in the playoffs. In fact, if the Bengals convert 3rd downs, I'll see you in January.
