Kazkal
Just wondering what peoples opinions are at the safety position? Will Ndukwe start strong and move dexter to free where he played before cinci? or will they let Ndukwe go ahead and replace madieu? Though I figured white was drafted for Free Safety Depth and Ndukwe for Strong.Maybe zimmer just goes with youth and starts both White & Ndukwe. The other thing was who do you guys like for the backup spots? I was thinking we keep 5 because they play a key roll on special teams.
TJJackson
Assuming there are no injuries during camp/preseason:Starters: Duke Nukem and Starvin MarvinPrimary Backups: Dexter (last year of his contract?) and Lynch5th safety: Kilmer (special teams ace status cements his spot)Practice Squad: Indiana Jones if he is eligible, otherwise HebertGone: everyone else

Wraith
I wouldn't count out Lynch starting at FS, he is a ballhawk, he is fast, he is smart.
BengalPimp
At this point, I think its too early to tell. I dont think anybody is a "lock" at this point. I think Jackson's experience is just too valuable with the youth in the secondary...say what you want about the guy's age, but he helps the secondary line up in the right spots, plus the LB's are so young, I wouldnt put it past the Bengals to maybe have him wear the Defensive Radio helmet. Regardless of who starts(we'll find that out in the preseason) expect to see a lot of DJax, Ndukwe, and Marvin White, with a healthy Ethan Kilmer(towards the end of his rookie year he was getting some snaps at safety) and Kyries Hebert to back them up. Lynch better do well on special Teams, til he can prove himself.
HAPPYJAQ
This is the most interesting battle of training camp IMO. I think the starters will be White and Jackson, with Nduke playing a lot on passing downs even some Nickle LB like he did last year, along with Rivers. Lynch will be the backup to White at FS with the last safety spot coming down to Kilmer and Jones. I do not think that Kilmer is a lock to make the team and he will have to impress again in camp and show that he can stay healthy. Jones was the teams best Special Teams player last year by far and I think that will be a consideration. He also played well from scrimmage last year, before he too was injured. It could come down to Kilmer and Castille for the swing CB/S slot, if the Bengals keep 9 DBs.
agreen_112
The Bengals have sought after the Canadien for a few years now. I think he gets a shot at some PT... This is going to be one of the most interesting competitions in camp. My opinion: Stay young. White and Duke get the starting role. D. Jax comes in for blitz and zone blitz packages. We'll never know if one of these young safeties are a Bob "the eraser" Sanders - type players that we've been looking for unless we just throw them out there to the sharks... I can see the young secondary giving up a few HR's now, but in 2-3 years, sky's the limit.

Brooks, Rivers, Sims, Peko, Gaithers, etc....the CBs and the safeties. If we can get a DE and DT stud with some added depth in the next few years, the D could look pretty good.....IF. As far a DJAX goes, he's getting close to being cut. He better come to play this training camp.
