HoosierCat
It will be interesting to watch this year, not just in Cincy but all over. With the likelihood that the owners vote to opt out of the CBA, contract talks could get bogged down over what happens in the event of a strike or uncapped league. I don't want to even think about the ramifications of that. Darkness does loom for the league, and I just hope they can advert it, because I can remember the last time play was suspended. Saying it sucked doesn't fully describe what I felt.

HoosierCat
Jason Cole of Yahoo Sports goes over another interesting wrinkle that will doubtless be of interest to the Bengals' FO. This bit in particular caught my eye:To protect themselves, the Vikings included language in the contract for the first two years that allows them to terminate the deal if (Jared Allen) arrested or suspended. In addition, Allen’s $15.5 million signing bonus is guaranteed only for injury. Signing bonus money is considered payment as a promise from the player to fulfill the terms of his contract. That reads to me like the Vikings coming at the now-banned "loyalty clause" from the other direction. Instead of giving a guy guaranteed money, but with a clause the team can recoup some or all of it if the guy is a jerk or screws up, the money is only specifically guaranteed in the case of injury, leaving other circumstances unaddressed.
