HAPPYJAQ
Many of you have read my posts about Mo Purify but I am convinced he will go down as one of the top UFA's in Bengals history, if the staff can get him to reach his full potential. Here's a YouTube clip from last season:He reminds me of Chris Henry with much more RAC ability. He is an absolute truck to try to tackle in the open-field and has sure hands. He goes 6'4'', 220, with 4.5 speed and dominated Aqib Talib to the tune of 3 TD's last year. If his off the field issues are behind him, he has a real chance to be an immediate impact player in the red zone this year and a future starter. Before the combine and pro days, he had a 4th round grade, which could have been a 2nd round grade if not for some incidents last Summer. According to reports, he had a great rookie camp and caught everything. I think he'll beat out Urrutia for the 6th receiver spot on the team this year with real upside potential. JoePong
I've said before, I think he will be a good player and much better than a 6th WR. He reminds me a little of a bigger Anquan Boldin. And I agree that he beats out Urrutia - who is destined for the practice squad.

kingwilly
I really like this new crop of WR's. Purify has every tool you need to succeed. He won't be able to turn and take hits like he did in college, NFL safeties will light him up, but he certainly has the requisites to make a career with the Bengals. If I am one of these young WR's, the thing I am excited about is Carson Palmer is my QB. There are few places where a WR would choose to go to work and have a better arm slinging me passes. The look of this WR crew is clearly anticipating moving on from CJ.If I am Mr. Purify, I would be working my azz off to come into the mini-camp and training camp ready to work at the highest level. Getting a shot in the NFL and a shot to work with a first class QB is a serious career oppty. make the most of it Mr. Purify!

I am predicting at 4-0 preseason because we have good depth at almost every position.
BengalPimp
Be realistic....The guy has some potential, sure.....But there is a Reason the guy didnt even get drafted. Seriously, How many WR's were drafted this year? 30 ? 40?...He wasnt one of them.

Perhaps it was crummy interviews at the combine...perhaps when he catches some TD's this year it will no longer matter? I'm sure you'll be cheering him then and applauding the Bengals for playing it smart and "rolling the dice" on Purify...He offers legit skills and talent. How is that a bad thing? Noone is saying he will be making the Pro Bowl or setting rookie records, just commenting that he could be an effective and quality weapon for Carson this year, nothing more, nothing less.As an aside, what's the difference between Purify and Sweed (besides who signed/drafted them and where)? your answer will be highly entertaining. Marion Barber III didn't start in college or for the Dallas Cowboys and still made the Pro Bowl this year....in the NFL! Same deal with Willie Parker, who routinely torches the Bengals. Furthermore, many players have off the field issues in college; some are made known to the media and some or not. You probably didn't know that Mario Urrutia had A LOT of the off the field issues for the Cardinals that were not exposed to the media but are common knowledge here in Louisville, stemming from his high school days, to the point that he joined the U of L team as walk-on as a means to persuade the Cardinals to sign his younger brother, who was thought to be a better player than Mario (he never panned out at Louisville). Did you know that Mario only played in 8 games (starting 4) last year and left the team prior to to January? Just some examples for you to think about. Don't be so quick to pass judgement. http://www.nfldraftscout.com/ratings/profile.php?pyid=56724

Seriously, How many WR's were drafted this year? 30 ? 40?...He wasnt one of them. But not because of ability. According to The War Room, Purify was rated only 4 spots below Jerome Simpson in the WR rankings, and he was 19 spots AHEAD of Urrutia. Caldwell was rated the #3 WR. Simpson was #16 (probably only that low because of small school competition). Purify was #20 - and would have been higher if not for character questions. Urrutia was #39, and the WR we just picked up on waivers was #45.Their comment on Purify was he has the ability to become a good NFL starter and a red zone threat. I think Caldwell, Simpson, and Purify will be a good trio for Carson in the future. I do not think Purify is another Chris Henry. In any case, I think we got 3 of the better WRs coming out htis year. And the good thing is that they are all different type players.
bnglsboi8532
Point blank...he doesn't step outta bounds! He's anti-chad bout that, him being a reciever and he wants to be the one who hits first. Breash of Freth air!

sparky151
From that highlight clip, I doubt he makes the 53, unless others get hurt. He keeps getting caught from behind. Maybe he's a good blocker and can help his cause that way.

Because it takes at least a dozen scouts to go to the War Room's website and look up their rankings. That's what the good teams do. Step one: They hire a bunch of scouts. Step Two: All of the scouts sit around on their computers looking up the rankings posted on sites like the War Room. Step Three: Set up the draft board according to the War Room rankings. Step Four: Draft'em.
