Rudi_Cant_Fail
I found a video on Shirley on the same site I found Simpson yesterday -Jason ShirleySome character issues, but he's huge and quick - that's a great combo (the huge size and quickness). If only he can keep his head on straight. I don't mind taking a flyer on the guy here.
TJJackson
Terrible pick. Awful. From what I understand, he has great ability and size....but he's been suspended at least twice if not more at Fresno State, has crashed a car while driving drunk, and has pending criminal proceedings ahead of him for stuff he has ALREADY doneIt's also said he is a bit of a prima donna.I look at this guy as all the worst of Ocho Stinko and Slim15 all rolled up into one.You don't contribute if you are suspended and/or behind bars, fellas...all you do is tie up roster spot and salary dollars. It would have been better to pass on making a pick at all than to pick this guyHorrendously bad pick
Pidge
So, Okam have character concerns? I mean, isn't this the start of a new asshat free era? Don't get it.
alleycat
if I'm not mistaken he is also this years strongest player with 40 reps of 225 at his pro day.
Pidge
Why take a flyer when a realtively safe pick, hell a damn promising one for the 5th rnd was there in Okam? Have I missed the story about Okam burning down an orphanage or something?
Kazkal
Agreed well he's a character risk he's a 5th round this is the time you can risk it because if he F's up you ship em out ala Nicholson.I keep hearing people say Okom is 330-345 lbs but on all draft sites i've seen they list him 310ish well good size I'm glad to have some beefy fellows for our line. TJJackson
None of these good things matter if he never sees the field, fellas

I mean the Saints run a 3-4 and didn't take Okam. Neither did we so maybe we intend on running a fair bit of 3-4. More than I certainly thought we might. But then Sims is around 310. Head scratcher. Not excited by the character issues.

Guion????why?<edit>and let me add, I think we have a mole in the FO for the Freaking saints.....dammit.
HairOnFire
In honor of this pick I'm going to crash my car into a police cruiser. Wish me luck.
Spor_tees
I saw Okam on Footballfutures listed at 320...you have to remember some of these guys still can beef up...and at 6"5" I think he can. That is a frame that can easily hold 330+
Kazkal
Who is? but at least top 4 rounds there we no character risks...Still think we are sticking with 4-3 as our main defense.
alleycat
I'd rather have my character problems doing damage in the trenches, I supppose...

And frankly, given that the one area this team has been very successful at has been ID'ing talent at DT late in the draft, I'm prepared to trust them on this one. BTG
Underachiever who has the physical tools to be great..Was suspended for the first two games of 2007 for conduct detrimental to the team...Was suspended again in October '07 after he crashed his car into an apartment building and left the scene while driving drunk...Was allowed back on the team after just four weeks but was ultimately dismissed once and for all after being cited for driving with a suspended license....Still has some legal issues to resolve....Great. Can't wait for ESPN to jump all over this one.

It's crazy. Yeah, sure we could cut him and ultimately we lose very little if it goes tits up. But then again, why not take a chance on a good character who might contribute on and off the field for a few years?Crap!

I don't mind taking a flyer on the guy here.I was listening to Matt Hasselback on ESPN Radio last week and he was talking about the difference between being a first round or two player vs everyone else.First rounders: you have to make a huge negative impact to get kicked out. Everyone else: You have to make an equally huge positive impact to get kept on.
bengalboomer7
f**k it, I like it. Nobody says s**t when the so call "America's team" Cowboys pick up one character concern after another. I hope this is Mikey telling Goodell F you buddy. And if he pans out he's a beast. And as Hoosier said, 5th rounders don't get to mess up
Pidge
He'll most likely be suspended before the f**king mini-camps. Roger will be pleased.
