DDOGG
Alexander's agent plans talks with Hawks Shaun Alexander | Seahawks | Interested: Bengals? On Monday Alexander's agent, Jim Steiner, told The Associated Press he would be talking with the Seahawks. "We're going to have some discussions with the Seahawks in the next few days," Steiner said in a telephone interview with the AP as printed in the Seattle Times. "It will be about the running back situation there." With deals to acquire T.J. Duckett and Julius Jones in the backfield, the Seahawks will have to do something with Alexander, John Clayton reports. Cutting or trading him doesn?t have much of an impact on the cap. They would lose $150,000 of cap room by trading him. If they put the June 1 cut on him, they would save $4.475 million of cap room. One interesting option for Alexander could be the Cincinnati Bengals. Alexander grew up in Florence, Ky., and is popular around Cincinnati. For years, there were plenty of rumors that the Bengals might try to acquire him in a trade.Should the Bengals take a chance on him or is he done? Alexander is NOT the same RB from a couple of years ago... He won't take a hit, he'll fall down before engaging any defense...
DDOGG
That is kind of true
bryce40
No thanks, I would rather draft a Rb from this year's draft than take a chance on Shaun.
Thurmanation
Definitely no. The only reason he hd that break-out season the year they went to the superbowl was because of his Oline, hes not a great RB at all.

He won't take a hit, he'll fall down before engaging any defense... Well he'll have something in common with Chad then. But I agree, he's in breaking-down Rudi territory, and he'll have a hard time behind the 0-line here like Rudi does. The Bengals pretty much need a guy who can avoid tacklers in the backfield and make cut backs and create on their own with quickness and vision. Sean and Rudi both need that momentum/push upfront, in order to break tackles and get yards.
DDOGG
So who do you think could suceed?
ShulaSteakhouse
So who do you think could suceed?A Watson type but with break away speed and more size.I really don't think Irons or Perry are the answer.
HairOnFire
I'm sorry, but I seem to have forgotten... What's the policy around here regarding old washed up dudes?
cincyhokie
I was thinking we could pick up a guy more along the lines of Kevin Jones. He's quick, explosive, and is already out for 2008 with a knee injury. This would save us alot of time and work getting him to the DL. What do you think? Kazkal
One or 2 year deal for very cheap I'd take a chance over rudi.
BengalszoneBilly
One or 2 years deal for very cheap I'd take a chance over rudi.In a New York minute.
agreen_112
I'm all for it, just because it would make my Grandmother so happy! She's followed Shaun since HS and always takes advantage of watching him play when the Seahawks are on TV... I think he's still got a couple years. duus
Seriously ... at a good price, with a limited time-frame (i.e. 2 years), this would be a fantastic addition to this team. Good character local guy with success in the league and positive playoff experience. Yeah, I think we could use somebody with that collection of attributes. Larry
Ahh, the things we talk about to get us through March.... Not a chance in XXXX. We are done in FA for all extensive purposes... Yes it was short, but would rather have one good quality player vs three old washed up guys.. I think Shaun has some gas in the tank yet though... bryce40
I like Shaun, but I would take Rudi over Shaun at this point.
DelhiBengal
If Kenny Irons comes back healthy, I think he can be very good. My buddy's an Auburn fan, so I watch most of their games. He'll be a nice back if the injury didn't ruin him. No real need for Alexander.
