Jackson: Chad didn't hit Lewis

Former Bengals wide receivers coach Hue Jackson, now Baltimore's quarterbacks coach, was interviewed over the weekend on Sirius NFL Radio. The topic of former Bengal lineman Shaun Smith's comment came up: Smith, now with the Browns, told a meeting of Browns fans in Maryland that Bengals wide receiver Chad Johnson was involved in an altercation during halftime of the Bengals' playoff loss to the Steelers in January 2006.

"No, he's not accurate," Jackson said of Smith'c comments. "I've heard about it, obviously; someone called me yesterday to mention it to me. And if Shaun did say that I'm a little surprised because, first, Shaun doesn't work in Cincinnati anymore. Shaun works for Cleveland, and I don't know how that would come back up again when it has been dead now for a couple of years.

" To shed light on it I'll say the same thing I said before. Chad Johnson never hit Marvin Lewis. Chad Johnson never hit me. Chad Johnson never put anybody in a headlock. Chad Johnson was very emotional at halftime of that game. The true story to all that was Chad had an IV in his arm and me, and him were talking about plans for the second half and he got emotional because he said, 'Hey, coach, without Carson (Palmer) I'm not going to be able to get the ball.'

"And that's what it was and I told him, `Well, then you need to tell (offensive coordinator) Coach Bratkowski that.' And he ripped the IV out of his arm, and it's like anything else, you see blood coming out of a person's arm people think the worst. And he went from there to go into the locker room to let Coach Lewis know that, 'Hey, look, I want the ball.' And that was it. And when he opened the door he stumbled out of the training room so he was flailing and people think that he was swinging on people. Chad wasn't swinging on anybody. Chad would not hit Marvin Lewis, and Chad sure would not hit me. So that is not what happened and I'm very disappointed that now, even after two years, we have to discuss this again. But that is exactly what happened."

nah, you're missing the point......

All we have to go on is what they say......but even so, it was like, even if you actually KNEW Chad hit Coach Lewis, you seem as though you were going to justify it in one way or the other.

Well, lemme man up and say sorry for believing the turd.

Your right, I would've justified it because he's still here and Marv has repeatedly said Chad isn't going anywhere, as well as denied the initial report. This to me, says everything is fine. The incident was over 2 years ago and people/media still want to bring up a bunch of negative bulls**t because they know idiots will believe it, I believed Shauns comment at first. But I defended Chad saying that if he did hit Marvin or Hue it wasn't malicious... Cleveland (As well as Baltimore and Pittsburgh) would love to see Chad leave Cincinnati, beleive that!

What I was right on about was the fact the Chad was extrememly emotional about the fact that Carson was out. It wasn't about him knowing that he wouldn't get the ball, it was that Chad knew the game was over... We all did.

Take it easy oldman, can't you have a little fun? I may be the Outcast, but I'm often wrong. I was wrong about Odell getting an extra suspension, but ulitmately he's still a Bengal and that's all that matters. So is Henry, Chad and Marvin who have all been hated on.

Sure young child, I can have fun. Referring to you as a festerring rectal wart IS fun.

Here we have a guy who cannot understand that a player punching the head coach could be problematic for any team in any sport...

A guy who defends that action as simply Chad being Chad...

And a phucking guy who has the gall to ridicule those who point out just how pathetically ridiculous that stance is?

Phuck you.

The bolded phrase in your above quote, your own words mind you, could not be more true.

Thanks for the truth in advertising, you 12 year old drama princess.

Wow i find it very funny though how Chad had to cry like a little girl and rip the iv out of his arm and cry cause no one will get him the ball now. Sounds like a great leader we have in the locker room, so instead of going to Kitna and his teammates and saying "we can do this guys Kitna i believe in you and i believe u can help us win" he storms off and cries about it. Wow Chad i love ya, but if i was his teammate i would be alittle concerned about that. I understand hes emotional, but come on Chad get urself toghter when the team needs you the most stop crying and do something about it.
