fattyjay
Has anyone heard news about Pollak yet? I for one could care less about the CJ stories and have been waiting to hear what the outcome of David's doctor visit will be. I think it seems like he really wants to come back now more than right after the injury happened. If he does want to make a comeback, will the Bengals even want his services? I know he is still under contract and they would take a big cap hit if they cut him, but I'm sure they are more than a little concerned with his ability to play at a high level still. agreen_112
Out of Chad, Thurman, Henry, C. Perry, A. Brooks, ect., Pollack has the least % of a chance of returning to play for the Bengals... I wouldn't count on any good news here.

Brooks, ect., Pollack has the least % of a chance of returning to play for the Bengals... I wouldn't count on any good news here.I definitely agree on the likelihood of his return, but his story to me is more intriguing than the players you mentioned.Chad- staying, no question (don't like it though)Odell- coming back barring injury or this Henry- already playingC. Perry- haven't seen him play in so long almost forgot he was on the team, so who caresA. Brooks- injury that did not require surgery that I know of, so why wouldn't he be back? Anyway he has a better chance (% wise) of returning than Pollack.

It did sound like it was pretty bad(partial tear), but he is supposed to be back after almost a whole year on the shelf to heal.
Kazkal
So Odells had no football in 2 years, Brooks has pretty much has had no football in 2 years.I'd say odell has chance of beating out brooks PS,I'd love to see david return as a end but i'd say about 40% chance of it happening

icehole3
Here's the story on BrooksBengals notebook: Brooks' groin injury required surgeryTuesday, November 27, 2007 3:13 AMBy Bill RabinowitzTHE COLUMBUS DISPATCHCINCINNATI -- There was a good reason Ahmad Brooks was slow to return from what was described as a groin injury. The injury was more severe than the Bengals let on, and the linebacker recently had surgery to fix it."They cut the abductor (to) release (it) and reattached it and sewed it to the muscle," Brooks said yesterday. "They said it was worse than what I thought it was."Brooks was injured in kickoff coverage against Cleveland in the season's second game. He tried playing defense but quickly realized he couldn't.After hoping in vain the injury would heal, the Bengals placed Brooks on injured reserve Nov. 7.Cincinnati hoped Brooks would become an impact player at middle linebacker after spending last season learning the ropes. He was selected in the supplemental draft following a checkered career at Virginia.Caleb Miller (now also on injured reserve), Landon Johnson and Anthony Schlegel have started at middle line-backer since Brooks was injured."There's nothing I can do but rest," Brooks said.He said he hopes to be healed by the start of offseason conditioning. No word on Perry, AndersonThe Bengals have to make a decision on Chris Perry's status, but coach Marvin Lewis wouldn't tip his hand.Perry is on the physically-unable-to-perform list and must be added to the active roster, placed on injured reserve or cut. The running back is likely headed for IR, especially because he did not practice Friday."We'll wait until whenever we're allowed to (to decide)," Lewis said.Lewis also was noncommittal about right tackle Willie Anderson's status for Sunday night's game at pissburgh. Anderson has been out because of knee and foot problems."We'll see about Willie on Wednesday," Lewis said.Rudi on the riseOn Sunday, Rudi Johnson had his most productive game since he suffered a hamstring injury in the third game against Seattle. Johnson ran for 88 yards and his first touchdown in a 35-6 rout of Tennessee. He had been saying for the past few weeks that his hamstring was improving."You feel good until you have a 300-pound guy strapped to your back," Lewis said. "I thought this week his runs were more Rudi-like as far as the way he was finishing runs."That was good to see. You have to be able to finish the run, and run through the first contact and finish into the second or third guy in the area."brabinowitz@dispatch.comhttp://www.dispatch.com/live/content/benga...D8.html?sid=

ShulaSteakhouse
Brooks situation doesn't sound good at all. You wonder if he'll ever have the same ability he did (see Ken Griffey Jr.).I think you need to find two new starters at LB and move on. I pray that they do, as I'm utterly tired of wondering about Brooks, Thurman, Pollack and Miller every year. The Bengals' need to get off their a$$es this off season and find some new talent, and quit re-signing average players and counting on question marks like the last two disappointing seasons. Suffering a torn groin has to be pretty damn painful. We'll be lucky if he returns.
