richmond_mat Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 It's derby day here in the bluegrass and I'm looking over the racing form for today's big race. The race looks to be as wide open as ever, does anyone have a favorite?I'm laying my money on the sure bet that I'll enjoy a few too many mint juleps. As for the race....who knows? An exacta or trifecta should pay very well today. http://www.courier-journal.com/cjsports/ne.../post_draw.htmlhttp://www.courier-journal.com/cjsports/tr...side/index.html Quote

I myself enjoy going to the races for the atmosphere, but I don't study it close enough to consider my self anything more than a guesser. Kinda like the NFL draft. We all turned out just to be guessing! Quote
richmond_mat Posted May 3, 2004 Author Report Posted May 3, 2004 thanks for saving me the embarrassment of having no replies to a post Billy You saved me from having to point out the lack of horse racing interest in the forum. If everyone won $100 yesterday like me then maybe they'd be bigger fans. If you say mint juleps stink then you've never had one properly made. Maybe Joisey'll get jacked up for the Preakness. Smarty jones might win the triple crown!!!!!!! :player: Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted May 3, 2004 Report Posted May 3, 2004 A hundred bucks!?! Good job mat! I always lose at horse racing, and I grew up working at Turfway in Florence Kentucky! Quote
Scottishbengal Posted May 7, 2004 Report Posted May 7, 2004 Man, (horse) racing is so boring (ZZZzzzzzzz) that you've got to put a bet on to make it interesting. You never see a poor bookie though, do you ? Quote
San Antonio Bengal Posted May 8, 2004 Report Posted May 8, 2004 It's too bad I haven't checked the site in a couple weeks. Otherwise you would have know that last week I was at a Derby party, here in San Antonio. There are a few of us Kentuckians down here amazingly enough. I thought it was pretty cool that the horse with the best name (Smarty Jones) out of the bunch won the thing. I'll be cheering him on in the Preakness. Quote
richmond_mat Posted May 20, 2004 Author Report Posted May 20, 2004 Who's pulling for smarty jones?I am. Quote
