Ox
I know things are bad. But god damnit you've got to have a passionate fire in your belly to get out of this slump. This is positively one of the most true-to-real life speeches from one of my favorite football movies of all time. The great Al Pachino gave what is one of the most heartfelt pre-game speeches I've ever heard on a movie. As Jaime B said on one of our sister sites, "Could this be any more appropriate right now?"I want just one time to hear Marvin Lewis give this speech and I wish he'd do it before the next game at Baltimore. Tell me what you think.

walzav29
Their offense will look like the 81 Chargers against our horrible lady-like defense.

cincy9275
personally i think talk is cheap. if marvin has to give these guys some kind of super pep talk then maybe some of these guys should not be here. also i question these players pride if they can not get up for a game in which they are payed to play. emotions are a big part of the game and i would cut anyone who just showed up for there check. if you can play with passion and pride then get the f**k off this team because we don't need or want you that would be the only speech i would give them!!!!! BengalChamps
As i continue to say, coaches do not cause teams to win or lose in professional sports. Talent does. And this team has NONE on Defense. Any poster on this board could have coached the Baltimore D that was so dominant for Marvin. Its all about the talent. Pep talks do not work in the NFL. Rarely work in college, and sometimes in HS.
Ox
I think you're all missing the point. This kind of talk plays on your emotions, and emotions DO play a huge part in sports. At this point, Marvin needs to do anything he can do light some sort of spark under this team, whether it works or not.
