Brandon Phillips breaks team record!

Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips hit his 28th home run of the year last night. This breaks Joe Morgan's 1976 team high 27 home runs for a second baseman. Phillips has had a great year.

Congratulations to Phillips!

With Griffey, Dunn, and Phillips, how do you guys not win more games?

I would love to have that kind of power on the Pirates.

Middle relief. And #2-#5 starters (although Arroyo has good starts from time to time, when and if he keeps his pitch count down!). Ouch and Ugh.

One more HR tonight for 29 I believe - very close to the 30/30 mark that only two Reds players have had in the past (Larkin, and sadly, forgetting other player at the moment, Davis maybe?)

Either way pretty impressive for a guy only in his 2nd full major league season as a starter/full-time player.
