casbengal Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 I was wondering how many of you have sons, grandsons or daughters that play organized football and which of those have you convinced to become Bengal fans? I have two grandsons playing Pee Wee and both are Bengal fans. Three of my four sons played high school ball and all are Bengal fans. Of the one that didn't well he's a Brown's fan (Yuck) but I still love'm. Quote
kenyon1977 Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 My old man hates football and sports in general so I started the football tradition in my family. My 4 year old boy is already a Bengals fan, probably because they wear orange, (he likes Tony Stewart), my wife never really watched football until we got married and now she has won multiple Fantasy Leagues and last time I checked liked the Vikings. My son will play football regardless of talent or the will to play, HAHAHA I'm his dad and can force him to do whatever I want, HAHAHA Quote

The third grandson is a Pittsburg Steelers fan (big yuck!) -- because his dad went to Miami of Ohio and is a big "Rottenburger" fan.I used to take my son to Wilmington to watch the Bengals -- he still has his Munoz rookie program with Anthony's autograph. My son and all my grandsons make one trip each year to Georgetown and get autographs -- even the Pittsburg fan gets a big kick out of getting Carson and Rudi's autographs. HairOnFire Posted August 24, 2007 Report Posted August 24, 2007 I am the only Bengal fan in my immediate family, and thus....considered a bit of a freak. That said, they always know what to get me on birthdays and Christmas, and as a rsult I have closets bursting with Bengal gear. On a down note, my wife hated the game of football and the way it constantly disrupted her weekend plans and became a Brown's fan in a misguided attempt to get under my skin. (How's THAT working out, Sugarteats?) Quote

On a down note, my wife hated the game of football and the way it constantly disrupted her weekend fans and became a Brown's fan in a misguided attempt to get under my skin. (How's THAT working out, Sugarteats?)See, I got lucky there - my wife figured out that eliminating sports wasn't an option, so she pushes hard for the ones she likes. So she's become a die-hard Bengals fan. Only down side is that she can't stand baseball (especially on TV), so I haven't been able to follow the Reds like I used to. Quote

Little young for football just yet unless tackling the cat counts.Trying to tackle a nimble cat would be great for your reflexes. Maybe the Bengals should try it to improve their tackling.Oh, and to get back on topic, both my brother and I are members here, and his two sons are fully clothed in Bengals kiddie gear. Quote
Sandwedge Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 Sadly I'm the only Bengals fan in my family, who are predominately Browns fans... Someone had to break the cycle!!Now I do have a nephew who's wife is a Bengals fan(she's hot too)!!! We usually gang up on the poor halfwit brownie fans!! Quote
Stripes Posted August 25, 2007 Report Posted August 25, 2007 Those few in my immediate family who care about professional football are Bengals fans. I molded my youngest brother and mother into Cincy fans, but my dad and most others already rooted for 'em.Only I follow the league this closely among them, though. Quote
casbengal Posted August 25, 2007 Author Report Posted August 25, 2007 It's hell getting old I left out my oldest grandson. He is a freshman on my old high school team. He's on the punt return team for varsity. They got pounded last night 68-0. The other team never had to punt so he's yet to see his 1st high school varsity action. He's a bengal fan too. Thanks for all your posts and yes tackling cats definitely counts! Quote
ArmyBengal Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 Been out of the loop for a few days (Stupid war), but liked this thread...My Dad started it for me. My Grandfathers were never much into the Bengals as I can remember. My Dad had two season tickets and my mom never wanted to go, so since my brother wasn't into football at all and my sister was much younger, I was in the mix !!! I have been going to the games religiously with my Dad since the early 70's until I joined the Army. I was at the freezerbowl and the first Superbowl with my Dad as well. Two more years and I will have season tickets of my own and my little dude will be right there with me (hopefully). Like DC Bengal, ArmyBengal Jr. has been in his Bengals gear since he was born. My wife only got into the Bengals because she thought it was so funny to see me get all hopped up over a football game. She loves it now though and can't wait for the Monday Night game against the Pats. I'M COMING HOME FOR THAT ONE !!!!WHODEY !!! Quote
