EdwardG Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 A middle linebacker from Arkansas. Supposedly, he is an unathletic overachiever. That's just what we need, less athleticism. Quote
skyline Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 its funny to read different things on the same people. tells you that nobody really knows anything until they get to the nfl. the bit on espn said he would be a backup/special teams player if developed and shouldnt be taken on the first day. then kiper does a thing on him and says hes a solid player, possibly 3rd best lb available, and said that it was a good move. HoosierCat Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 Another project. Took him 2 round too early. Why not Rod Davis? Not very impressed with this draft so far... Quote
Sox Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 He is Kiper's #4 rated inside Linebacker. He also runs a 4.6.Kiper states,"Because of his speed and tackling ability,he could project outside in the NFL".That is from Kiper's 2004 Draft Guide. He doesn't sound unathletic to me. Quote
AGrizzlyBaer Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 i say in marvin we trust.... well lets hope they know what they are doing Quote
Kirkendall Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 I wonder what this says about Abullah Quote
JPW Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 I posted over on the other Forums, But since most of there posts seems to be here, let me ask this here.Does it seem to anybody else that we have been Reaching big time in this Draft ? Quote
chrishcovga Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 Bull Sh*t pick... totally blew it on passing on Keyaron Fox. Missed out on DE, and DT's all day.. what a waste. Quote
jditty47 Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 i dont like the negativity...chris u are looking at the research...look at what all our picks did in college and on the field. All of them led their defenses in strong conferences. Quote

chrishcovga Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 Actually I like the Rudi Johnson pick.. But I don't like how we drafted today..Ratliff and Williams over Ware, and Jones, no way..Powell, and Clemons over Odom,Starks,Dockett,Hill, -- NO Way..Johnson and Miller over Fox, and Davis, ?? -- NO WayPerry over Jackson.......absolutely NOT Quote
jditty47 Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 thats by your draft board not the bengals obviously they dont agree...so either get over it quick or let it eat at u. Quote
chrishcovga Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 Even Kipers' board, Jerry Jones' board, Dan Pompeii's board, Vic Carucci's board.. Don't take my word for it.. you'll see come this season.. No impact players, and a draft full of backups and special teamers.. WE ought to have some really good special teams, but we'll suck except for playing musical running backs again Quote
rocket Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 day 1 of the 2004 draft 5 picks 0 starters Quote
San Antonio Bengal Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 Actually I like the Rudi Johnson pick.. But I don't like how we drafted today..Here's the real question. Did you like the Rudi Johnson pick the year before last when Rudi was sitting on the bench? How about the year before that? No one will really know how good the 2004 draft is until a year or two or three from now. Some of these picks will work out and some won't, but that's the nature of game. It's impossible for ALL of the picks to turn out as disasters. It's also impossible for ALL of the picks to turn into superstars. I'm so sorry that the Bengals didn't chose their picks according to your draft board -- I'll make sure to remind Marvin, Mikey and the others in the Bengals front office to get your opinion when the 2005 draft rolls along. As for the first three rounds, I gave Cincy a B grade. There's nothing that really jumps out at me, but at the same time there's nothing that makes me think "are they crazy?" After seeing Marvin's performance last year, I'll be trusting in him until there's reason not to. Quote
skyline Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 i agree with the rudi comments. ive tried to make that point several times to no avail.he led the SEC in rushing. sort of like the CB was named SEC defensive player of the year, and the LBs led their teams in tackles. Quote
jditty47 Posted April 25, 2004 Report Posted April 25, 2004 i agree now...all our picks were tops in their conferences...surprises but solid. Quote

I had him as a 2nd rounder that year. I thought, we finally rid ourselves of not having a good backup to Corey.- 10 straight 100 yard games against the SEC.. - great balance at Auburn- played behind average line... --- I thought he was a second rounder, so last year wasn't a surprise to me. When Corey got hurt, I was like, Just stick Rudi in.. leave Bennett on the Bench. And I don't doubt Marvin's ability to coach, I think they did themselves an injustice by not taking better players of need. Quote
