BengalszoneBilly Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 the reds swept the braves in Atlanta and have great pitching...you guys think we should try to make a psuhI wouldn't call the relief pitching "great" by any means, but don't you think 13 and 1/2 games is a tall order? Quote
Stripes Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 No, I don't want the Reds to bring in emergency players with any thought of making a run this season. It's over, and it has been over for months. I want them to focus on the long term. Quote
agreen_112 Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 I disagree, It aint over til its over. We can still make a nice run or at least finish the season strong. If we're not right back in the hunt by the end of August, then it's over, until then, they can completely turn this around like the cubby's have done. Quote
skyline Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 They're not in last place! They're not in last place! Quote

MacD BengalFan Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 the reds swept the braves in Atlanta and have great pitching...you guys think we should try to make a psuhAnd then lose 3 straight to the Marlins. Since going 10-4 under Pete Mackanin, 1-4 since. In order for the Reds to even finish above .500 they have to have a .750 winning percentage and that just went into the crapper. The season is done unless there is a sudden collapse of the Brewers and Cubs and that does not look like its going to happen. The farthest back a playoff team has even been was 11 games back. The Reds are 13.5 games, so the odds are stacked against them. Quote

It's how you finish the season. That's what counts the most in MLB. Quote

That being said, the Reds are playing fairly well now since the managerial change. Quote
semiotter Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 Hey they are hotter than most teams and they beat up on 1st place mil. and won the 1st against the cubbies....its never to late fellas Quote
skyline Posted July 28, 2007 Report Posted July 28, 2007 I'll take the win last night, but I felt terribly for Arroyo. He pitched an amazing game only to let the bullpen blow yet another win in the 9th. Quote
