DesperateDerelict
Pete Prisco from CBS Sportsline lampoons Porter as the MOST OVER-Rated player in the NFL. For the Bengals, he mentions Deltha as the most over-rated and Robert Geathers as the most under-rated. Here's the link: Prisco's ArticleMy votes:OVER-RATED: For 2006 I'd have to give it to Madieu Williams. His sophomore year saw a fall-off in all categories, and the talk of an all-pro berth in Hawaii fizzled by midseason. If you want to rank players for their entire career, I'd go with Justin Smith: A solid, high energy player, but the 4th overall pick should be somebody you can build your entire defense around.UNDER-RATED: My vote goes to Bobby Williams. Probably the last starter on the line you hear about, his pass and run blocking were consistently excellent from game to game, and he probably led the team in pancakes - both blocks and eaten. Honorable mention to Kelly and KK (gone). Thoughts?

Faded in the stretch when we needed just one win. Unfortunately he's done this over two seasons. Under-Rated, Again from Offense, Jeremi Johnson, the fullback. In the red zone, the guy either springs the run or breaks down the defense for a catch. Bobby Williams is a contender though, no doubt. Sportsdoc
Guys, Bobbie Williams -- feet planted in concrete, can't hit the second level, can't bend his knees, can't help the center... other than than he is fine. He can fall on slow 290lb DT's ok, though.
Stripes
Bobbie Williams was our most consistent offensive lineman last season, IMO. The only other guy I think came close was Big Willie.
ArmyBengal
OVERRATED: From last years performance, I would say, Madieu as well, but I think he will come back strong this year !!!UNDERRATED: Kyle Larson... I can't remember the last time i was so happy with our punter. He got far more consistent and definitely helps pin down opposing offenses inside their own 20 !!!WHODEY !! The Bengals' won't pay guard or centers, and they suffer for it, along with a bad o-line coach Marvin was forced to inherit and keep. Sorry, Shula, if I knew YOU were reading this I would have made it simpler. Prisco picked Robert Geathers as the most under-rated , where I => Desperate Derelict, the scout extraordinaire <= chose Bobby Williams. I saw Big Bobby get to and effectively block the '2nd level' (Note to Shula: that's football talk for linebackers and safeties) alot last year, especially against 3 - 4 defenses ((Note to Shula: that's defenses that use 3 down linemen & 4 linebackers) The game he most impressed me was San Diego, when he & Guy-check effectively neutralized their awesome NT (Note to Shula: that's a nose tackle - the middle of the 3 down linemen) also named Williams. I thought San Diego's Williams was a DMVP candidate, and Bobby handled him!!!
ArmyBengal
I'll agree with Chad NOT being overrated. He has led either his conference or the league in receiving yards for four straight years now. While I understand that the stats don't win games, this is something NO OTHER WR HAS DONE IN THE HISTORY OF THE GAME !!! Chad has become the face of this team, helped bring this organization out of the basement and onto ESPN, and has done all of it while having fun and involving the crowds. There are far more appropriate places to affix blame before turning to Chad. At least in my opinion...WHODEY !!!
The PatternMaster
I don't think we have anyone on the team who is over-rated, when you come from depths of despair like this core has no one gets a name without earning it. All of our big name guys have earned every accolade they have received through hard work and stellar play on game days.As for under-rated, I would have to say Reggie Kelley because alot of what he does goes unnoticed and the average Bengal fan would like to think we have some of the worst TE's in the league, but really Kelley is one of the best, especially at what we ask him to do. Kelley is one of the best teammates, a good blocker, a tough guy who rarely misses games, and he has solid hands. I would also say Deltha is under-rated, anytime you can miss a month of games due to injury and struggle when you return and still get 3 int's; your a pretty talented player. In 2005 Deltha had one of the best seasons for a Bengal's CB in the history of the franchise, but he got no new contract after he clearly out-performed is current one. Everyone wants to see O'Neal have constitantly great seasons and I can understand that, but treating this guy like anything but one of if not the best CB in the league is short of criminal. Has Champ Bailey or Nate Clements ever got 10 int's in a year? How many SuperBowls have they lead their team to win, how did the Broncos and the Bills do in the playoffs last year? Excatly, people need to quit acting like Deltha was the problem last year. Last year the problem on defense was #1. No consistant pass rush from the middle and Tory James playing with ankle weights and construction boots. Yes Deltha struggled a few games but who doesn't go through their ups and downs throughout the season, you could easily point at ANY member of the team from Carson to Caleb and point out times when they struggled to play at the level everyone expects them to play at. Sandwedge
Picking an over-rated player from lastyear is tuff.... My pick would have to be Dexter JAckson... Maybe I expected more from him, but he seemed just average to me..... Under-rated would go to TJ Whosyourmomma.... The guy had his best year as WR and he does all the dirtywork underneath... J24
Overated- Robert Geathers Yeah i know he had 10 1/2 sacks last year but all his sacks came in buches and it was not like he came in week in and week out and brought constant pressure witch makes you a good PlayerUnderated- Madieu Williams He has been getting a lot of flack from Bengal Nation for not beeing that big time Player he had one horriable play last seaon and he was also covering alot of ground since Tory James could not cover a blow up doll and the fact that he also had no support from his LB corps had plus lack of a consistant pass rush did him in. He also made to big plays last season the Pick in the endzone in Neworleans and the Pick in the Endzone against the steelers witch both came when the other team was about to take over the game. he also had more tackels than Ed Reed last year.
