Carson at 4 strikes me as a bit...premature. But you can make a case for it. Rudi as the 6th-best RB in the league, ahead of Alexander? Somewhere, DontPushMe's head just exploded... mjm47
I'd buy Carson at 4.It's tough to quantify the differences between different positions, different sides of the ball.My guess is that the thinking is that QB is the most important position on the field, so the 3rd best QB is rated higher than the best LT or LB.Jason Taylor is 10 and he arguably can have as great an impact on a game as a top-tier QB. HairOnFire
Somewhere, DontPushMe's head just exploded... Please, to create an explosion you need to tap vast amounts of dynamic energy. If Pushy's head is capable of completing any task, beyond growing hair or holding up a hat, my money is on an unspectacular inward collapse unworthy of being described as an implosion. That said, a crazy list that could be debated all day. Happily the Bengal players named all seem worthy of the attention. It's tough to quantify the differences between different positions, different sides of the ball. I'd say the list is proof that defense rarely gets the respect it deserves.

bengalsfansince68
rudi is again way overrated.....he isnt even in the top 10 running backsI gotta go with TDB on this one 17! Here is something to consider:Rudi has finished in the top 7 in the NFL in rushing yards for 3 straight years.Rudi has also finished in the top 7 in rushing TDs for 2 straight years.Perhaps you could list ten better backs than Rudi.Until you do, your uninformed and arrogant opinion is moot in my mind. WhoDeyForever
wow! Big props on that..Giving Carson Palmer a lot of credit and I think he deserves it.
derekshank
rudi is again way overrated.....he isnt even in the top 10 running backsAnd why not? Support your controversial statement with something.Well, lets see. He's been a starter for 3 years. In those 3 years he's been in the top 10 in rushing yards and rushing TD's every single year. Also, in those 3 years combined he is 4th in rushing (behind only LT, Alexander, and Tiki) and is 5th in TD's (Behind only LT, Alexander, LJ, and Dillon by one). But no way is he a top 10 RB. His consistency and durability over the last 3 years have been luck.
derekshank
Oh yeah... Palmer at #4 is also very well deserved. We're talking about a guy who had arguably the best season of any QB in '05 and followed it up in '06 coming off reconstructive knee surgery in the top 6 in passer rating, the top 5 in yards, and the top 2 in TD passes. The Cartoonish numbers continue in '07.
HairOnFire
The Cartoonish numbers continue in '07. I just listened to John Clayton react to Palmer's statement that he's targeting a 70% completion rate this season. Clayton pointed out that it's not out of the question for Palmer to meet his lofty goal by citing his 2005 performance (67.5%). Clayton then ended the piece by saying that if Palmer does reach his goal the Bengals are a playoff team regardless of whatever else might happen. He's the man.
