DuffMan
I was thinking about the past couple of days and of how the patriots are media darlings who can do no wrong (read: merriweather, dillon, moss) and came up with a few pseudo-predictions for this upcoming year: -Randy Moss will be a pain in the ass, and the media will blame Moss for failing New England -Merriweather will snag about 5 ints this year and automatically be a DROTY finalist by week 6 -Adalius Thomas wont perform up to his salary, but will still make the pro bowl with sub-par numbers -Tom Brady could have a mediocre season, Palmer could have a HOF season, but Brady will still be in the mix with Manning for best QB in the league on every ESPN analyst's list-Kelley Washington will have a decent season (40-something catches, 500-ish yards, 6TDs), and the pats will be praised for their scouting abilities and swagger while the Bengals will be ridiculed for letting a semi-talented player that they didnt need go (a la Steinbach) Not that im bitter or jealous or anything....... Kazkal
I don't I think Moss and welker are 1 & 2 and washington will be mix for 3# job and if he doesnt get it he'll be 4.Chad Jackson is a bust.

agreen_112
Here's my prediction: Bengals vs. Patriots... AFC Championship game. Moss will be a completely different player this year, this guy will be unstopable with Brady as his QB.

And will have to fight to be that.HoF is right, it's not a certainty he makes that team...
GapControl
The bad thing about the Pats now is... they have the strongest WR core in the AFC. Until the Bengals show we have a 3rd WR that can get numbers (and actually play real NFL games -ahem- Henry!) we can no longer hold that throne. Donte Stallworth over TJ (last three years TJ over 3000 yards and 20 TDs and Stallworth 2400 yards and 17 TDs)? Wes Welker over 1/2 a Henry (taking last years numbers Welker had more yards than Henry but only 1 TD vs. a guy that if you took his number and projected them over 8 games would still have 5 TDs)? Remember Kelly Washington is a guy who could not see the field for the last two years that makes him what, our #6 WR?Nah I'll take CJ, TJ, Henry, Tab Perry, Antonio Chatman, and Bennie Brazell over Moss, Stallworth, Wes Welker, Chad Jackson, and Kelly Washington any day of the week. I wouldn't put him above Caldwell on the depth chart personally, so he's somewhere between 4-6.So I'll give him maybe 10-20 catches, conditional on him making the team. CarsonCity
The bad thing about the Pats now is... they have the strongest WR core in the AFC.That's just flat out not true. That title still remains to the Indianapolis Colts. They have two AFC Pro Bowlers and just added Anthony Gonzalez in the draft (which was a phenomenal pick). The Patriots have a talented malcontent in Moss, an average #2 in Stallworth, and then mediocre 3rd WRs. I'd take Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Stokeley/Gonzalez over them every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

You see I once wrote that there was no way Gonzalez would be drafted in the 1st round, and instead of hiding behind the fact that he was the LAST pick in that round I think the thing that stands out in retrospect is how much sense that pick makes for that particular team. It's a near perfect fit.
