Kirkendall Posted April 29, 2007 Report Posted April 29, 2007 The Reds traded Chris Denorfia for two players to be named later and cash considerations to Oakland. One player already announced is Marcus McBeth. Here's McBeth's numbers:Triple A: 1-0 with 5 saves, 8 games, 10 IP, 7 hits, 3 ER, 6k and 3 bb. Combining AA and A in 2006: 3-3, 3.07 with 59 app. with 32 saves (5th among minor leaguers) Quote
Stripes Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 I always thought Denorfia sucked. McBeth is worth a look, though I can't say I expect much yet. Quote
Spor_tees Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 I always hated Denorfia....the guy is like a Odd Lots version of Ichiro as a hitter. He just throws the bat at the ball and slaps it around. He has only above average speed, and is not a sensational outfielder. If this former Oakland pitcher turns out anything like the last one the Reds got in a trade (Harang for Guillen) then the Reds will make out like gangbusters. Quote
BengalszoneBilly Posted April 30, 2007 Report Posted April 30, 2007 Well the Reds have to do something to find a closer. The blown saves this season has just been rediculous! Quote
