Kirkendall
The Reds traded Chris Denorfia for two players to be named later and cash considerations to Oakland. One player already announced is Marcus McBeth. Here's McBeth's numbers:Triple A: 1-0 with 5 saves, 8 games, 10 IP, 7 hits, 3 ER, 6k and 3 bb. Combining AA and A in 2006: 3-3, 3.07 with 59 app. with 32 saves (5th among minor leaguers)
Stripes
I always thought Denorfia sucked. McBeth is worth a look, though I can't say I expect much yet.
Spor_tees
I always hated Denorfia....the guy is like a Odd Lots version of Ichiro as a hitter. He just throws the bat at the ball and slaps it around. He has only above average speed, and is not a sensational outfielder. If this former Oakland pitcher turns out anything like the last one the Reds got in a trade (Harang for Guillen) then the Reds will make out like gangbusters. BengalszoneBilly
Well the Reds have to do something to find a closer. The blown saves this season has just been rediculous!
