Wow. Next 3 picks: Griffin, Ross, Nelson. Bengals got in right at the start of the DB run. :sure:

One way of looking at it is they got at least the 2nd rated CB on their board... maybe the first. When you get your secondary guy just before a run on them... at least you had your pick of the litter.

Did anyone see the Leon Hall interview before the draft? He said he loved meeting Chad when he visited Cincy. CJ tried to bring him a pair of spikes so they could do a little 1v1, but the coaches vetoed it :P

I'm sure Chads waiting at the airport right now so he can get that 1v1 ;)

The last time that happened for us, we took Atrell Hawkins just before Patrick Surtain, Brian Kelly, and Samari Rolle.

Well I would have rather had Nelson as our pick but some sites had Hall rated as a top 10 talent.

I just think that we could have gotten a good CB in the second round.

Most top CBs are taken in the 1st round. If a guy is really good, he doesn't last until the 2nd. You have a much better chance of getting a safety in round 2.

Well ...

At least one of these players: Marcus McCauley, Eric Wright, Josh Wilson, Jonathan Wade, Usama Young, Fred Bennett, Daymeion Hughes, Kenny Scott and maybe even Chris Houston should still be on the board in the second round.

What Safeties do you think should still be there ?

I agree. Bengals fell into the proverbial pile of sh*t and came up smelling like roses. I just remain amazed that Hall was on the board. No, he doesn't have the upside of some of the other possibilities...but we all know about that whole "potential" thing...and Hall IMHO is the most "plug 'n' play" CB in the draft. Pencil him in at nickel right now and in Deltha's slot by game 8 if O'Neal doesn't pull his act together.

I look at Hall and see a guy who is solid overall and has the occasional Pro Bowl season in him.

You take the top person on your board regardless of how you predict the second round is going to shake out. To answer your question, Brandon Merriweather and Eric Weddle might be there.

Well we got our boom / huge upside in Jjoe so we can play it safe on the otherside of him.

He was a safe pick like they said may not be a probowler but gonna be very good football player.

It is hard to fault the pick since he was not expected to drop to the Bengals pick at 18... but I still just do not feel confident with him.

Oh well... good pick. No real complaints, just not jumping out of my seat.

Sorry baby, but I love this pick. Top program, CB who can play S too, top corner on the board before the hype machine sent Revis flying...I couldn't ask for the draft to have fallen better for Cincy.

One billion percent agree.

Well the talking heads might have a fit but I would certainly take a chance on Brandon Merriweather in the second.

The Bengals have Deltha O'Neil -many time Pro Bowl CB- and Johnathan Joseph 1st round pick last year who played well last year.

This sooo where is he going to play ?#3 CB

That is not what a 1st round pick is for.

If you are going to do something this stupid at least trade down and pick up some extra picks for it.

This move is as smart as using a 1st round pick on a back up RB that cant stay healthy enough to play a season.

By the way, this is the same Leon Hall that was abused by Oh State last year.

I am not saying he is not a good CB, just not worth where he was drafted for the Bengals.

On another note, is there some reason why Mr. Leon Hall can't be a punt returner ?

Yes... his name is Antonio Chatman.

Yea I guess so if he can get and stay healthy.

I don't see why they don't give Housh another shake at returning punts.

Well I only brought it up because IMO anybody not named Ratliff would be an improvement.

Are you kidding ?

Some people had him going in the top ten.

Oh my. And then there are those people that you are glad you don't watch games with. I'll add you to a list that includes ex-girlfriends, my 3 year old, and my mother-in-law.

Seriously ... I am not sure where in the world you get your information. Ugh.
