BZBot
Henry has rightly or wrongly become the poster child for everything that is wrong with the Cincinnati Bengals. He was arrested four times within eight months. His latest run in with the C.P.D. could mean 88 days in the pokey, and it has given new NFL Commissioner Rodger Goodell more ammo for his meeting with Henry next month. schweinhart
Still let the league deal with Henry and ride him out. He's as stupid as they come so the ride shouldn't take too long. However long he's suspended to start the year, he'll get arrested again and suspended some more so before his 1st suspension is up, he'll be out for the whole year. With an idiot of this proportion, there's no reason to exxpect any different.Best case for the Bengals is for the league to suspend him all year right away so the Bengals can plan for 2007 and hope like hell that neither Chad nor Housh miss any time. It might mean the Bengals prioritize a WR pick in Day 2 of the draft, but more likely they fish for a cheap free agent fit unless they doubt Tab Perry can go then they may jump up WR in the draft. But hopefully they take heed of the Patriots and what a great QB can do with slop wide receivers (course Brady had TEs to throw to) and not burn a high pick where they need it most -- on defense. GregCook
I think the Bengals have successfully tossed knucklehead to the Commish for him to inflict the pain. With Tab Perry and Chatman still recovering from serious injuries, its possible this will shake up their draft plans for the first day. It will all depend upon what the Commish does. Henry, lets all remember, could be one of the finest wide outs in the game. Just to show him some love now, he has managed to avoid felony charges so far this year, unlike like year, so he has improved. This traffic stuff is trivial on its own merits, except when its put on Henry. Whether he is "getting it" now is for Marvin and those close to him to judge. As a fan, I have no clue, but I do like our game when Henry is the third wideout on third and long, don't you?

We still have 0 fantastic LBs, and apparantly only 1 CB at all (I don't count Ratliff). If Mikey drafts a WR in the 1st or 2nd round, I will personally drive 10 hours over the mountains for the pleasure of killing him with my bare hands. Maybe its just me, but it seems the Bengals have more holes to fill this year than last during the first day. I do think they are thin at wideout until Tab is sound and ready to play, same for Chatman. Here's hoping that Marvin can trade down for another first day pick or two.Holes to fill in 2007Chris PerryPollack/Simmons/Odell---just pick oneTory JamesMaybe Chris HenryAll of these guys were first day picks. And add to that Deltha O'Neal if they trade him and depth on O-line now that Steinbach's gone, and general help at DT. We need a lot of help. This roster's looking mighty thin. If he's suspended for a couple months and they know it before the draft and Tedd Ginn is on the board at #18.......and Carson Palmer whispers Teddy into Mike Brown's ear on draft day....got to think Mike Brown will consider it. See even if Henry is "only" gone for a month, he will be on notice that further lawlessness will result in much longer suspensions like Odell for instance. So the Bengals have to be worried that he will leave them high and dry during the season. Anybody want to give odds right now that Henry hasn't seen the last of the rear seat of a beat cop's cruiser? Stripes
What the hell do you do with Henry?Cheer gleefully after he has caught his 10th touchdown pass of the season.
duus
What the hell do you do with Henry?Cheer gleefully after he has caught his 10th touchdown pass of the season. No kidding. I will be the first punk fan to jump up and down, high fives flying everywhere, should that happen. Short-term memory kicks in mighty quickly when the orange and black cross the goal line. That said, if he never steps onto the field again wearing those colors, it wouldn't bother me either. He deserves to be canned, and I have come to the opinion that there would be more good come out of the Bengals organization making an example of him than bad. Then again, if they want to prove hero and give this guy every chance in the world, who am I to say. I wouldn't do it, but I will applaud it should it actually work out. Believe me if he were to commit a felony, I would probably say "That's enough" and be done with him. But he didn't, it's a stupid little misdemeanor! So what would I do? Think about the draft and let the NFL and law deal with him. No way in hell would I cut him... At least he's showing some improvement, he didn't have weed on 'em. Believe me if he were to commit a felony, I would probably say "That's enough" and be done with him. But he didn't, it's a stupid little misdemeanor! You're right. For some reason, people keep forgetting that Henry violated his court order that's created this suspicion he may spend 88 days in jail in the first place. But as long as your perfectly accepting of Henry's impending long-term suspension and that he commits misdemeanor's instead of felonies, then I have no problem... jditty47
even if we go defense all day first day during the draft thats only 2 players a 1st and a 3rd. thats not much of an impact if you really think about it.
WhoDeyForever
Henry has a whole lot of talent he just does not make the smartest decisions off the field..If we keep him I would not have a problem with it..Just don't let anything major happen again..If we do end up cutting him or trading him then I won't have a problem with it either.. BengalszoneBilly
What the hell do you do with Henry?IMHO, when you consider his raw ability, you keep him and help him work through his behavioral problems because these things simply cannot be changed overnight. It takes time. There is no "magic pill" to fix these things, but they are able to be overcome. Especially in a young person such as he. blueridge
The Bengals should stick by Slim and welcome him back after his suspension. They need him on the field. I am really sick of people piling on the guy and either calling him a thug or lumping him in with a public menace like Pacman Jones. Henry hasn't harmed anybody but himself. Sure, he is an irresponsible knucklehead, but that doesn't make him a bad person. He must have some redeeming qualities other than his athletic ability.
