Briggs likely going to Washington

Recommended Posts

to there defense, their defensive style is built for linebackers and safeties. they get another beast that is young and in his prime also allowing them to keep a first round pick. i actually like this move by them.

TDB over-valuing his favorite Bengals' players and preaching about saving $ over proven talent? Can't be! :)

Whom did I overvalue? I mentioned two players -- T.J and Madieu. Neither of those two are my "favorite" by any means, and I'd be stupid to build an argument around that were it the case. I asked a legitimate question, and it wasn't answered by yourself or WCA. Instead, WCA speculated about the worth of one of the two, and you busted my balls while missing the point.

Bringing in Lance Briggs and his contract would undoubtedly cost the Bengals players already on the roster down the road, and it's typical of you to ignore that truth in favor of whining about present roster issues.

I'm not saying Briggs wouldn't be a solid addition to the defense (nor am I saying he would), but simply noting that adding him would cost the Bengals more than just cap space.

While I was just being a smart ass, I think TJ will be gone regardless, Madeiu won't cost as much as you seem to think he will, and there's no shortage of other mediocre players scattered all over the team you can replace.

Unfortunately they have spent way too much on an overrated o-line group since last offseason, including Kelly, and have no money left for anything.

Then they draft a tackle on day one when they have Andrews, and have to make some 6'7" monster a guard, and release a 2nd round pick from just 3 years ago at guard because they can't afford him, but keep the lesser player in Williams to save a buck or two.
