Stripes Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Plus will have David pollack to releive Justin "hopes"We can only hope, because that would be absolutely huge. Quote
Kazkal Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Ya if pollack decided come back and would move back to end mybe releive justin this year then be starting end if justin doesnt agree to terms by time he signs it Quote
agreen_112 Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 I'm not nocking the guy, it's just that we need a pass rusher man. Jumpy's allright. Why can't we find a strahan, or osimuya, or a guy like that? Don't worry about tackles, O-Dawg will make up for those lost one's!!!I don't disagree that we could use another good pass rusher. I think Ahmad Brooks will be able to provide a good boost from SSLB (assuming he plays there). Okoye would be good for that purpose too, even if there's no chance we'll get him. I like our DE tandem as is though. Smith and Geathers complement each other well.I agree with you. Justin's allright, I'm just bustin the guys balls. Him and Jumpy will be great this year. Maybe if we get some brilliance in the interior and at LB, like you mentioned, they will stand out more. I definitey believe in that theory. Quote
hrod382 Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 He's going to want mega-bucks.I think the tag was to buy time to see if Rucker could start.Either way in '08 I highly doubt him being a Bengal. Quote
JoePong Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Any player we get in the draft to replace Justin Smith is not going to be as good. Our defense will be weaker becasue of it. Quote
Kazkal Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 He's going to want mega-bucks.Kreeney deal wasen't to bad so that really diden't hurt us but if dwight signs thats gonna hurt us lol.... Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 He's going to want mega-bucks.Kreeney deal wasen't to bad so that really diden't hurt us but if dwight signs thats gonna hurt us lol....Yeah, Nate Clements won't be the highest paid defender for long But I dont see the Colts getting a deal done with him this year Quote
Kazkal Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Aye Might as well keep him around for 8.6 this year retag him then give him new one next Quote
BTG Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 I heard St. Louis was really interested in him. I doubt they'd give up two picks, but we might be able to get a first from them. A second at the very least. Just food for thought. Quote
TJJackson Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 Frostee the Slowman will find it hard to make tackles for us while in prison Quote
schweinhart Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 There would be fewer teams interested in Smith now than there was just last week due to free agency signings since then. The Skins, Texans and Falcons would have to top the list. Those 3 teams have Top 10 picks so a straight pick-player trade is out of the question unless the Bengals get lucky (the Skins are run by morons so anything's possible). The Rams signed James Hall but still will most likely get a DE in Day 1 so they're sitting there at #13.Best case scenario the Bengals could hope for by trading Justin IMO is swapping 1st rounders and getting an early 3rd. HoTbOy Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 I don't know if they could get a 1st and 3rd but I sure would take a #2 for him... Quote
