BZBot
It’s February, and Super Bowl XLI is in the books. I love the NFL off-season. As soon as the last second ticks off the clock of the Biggest Game in the World, discussions begin as to the upcoming draft, the free-agency period, and which Cincinnati Bengal is likely to be arrested next.Source: http://www.bengalszone.com/article.php?sid=
BTG
Where do they go? 8-8 with the defense they have right now. And then next offseason Hobson will continue to say that we have no money to spend and we're going to use the money we do have to resign the players that HAVE NOT DONE A THING TO HELP US WIN. I don't want to here that same sorry speach from Marvin that we are going to spend our money on resigning those garbage players. Here we are once again talking about there lack of good free agents that they are bringing in, I thought I was dreaming a few years ago when it was reported that they were talking to Warren Sapp. I knew it was too good to be true and that some way we would mess it up and guess what we did. I thought it was good that we did not pick him up when I saw that he struggled that year we did not pick him up, but he was playing out of position that year. Look at the year he had this year more sacks then all of our defensive tackles (not DE) put togather.

gregstephens
Hey all. I'm with you guys. I wrote that article to stir the question, but frankly, I'm frustrated with the apparent lack of desire to revamp the D. Nothing on Justin Smith, he's the best lineman we got, but franchise him?? Are you kidding me? At his age, and he's not special to begin with.I must admit I hate seeing Simmons go because he is a class guy, but he was slowing down. Landon Johnson puts up a lot of tackles, but they're usually in the backfield.I'm saying 9-7 right now without seeing the schedule. That doesn't factor in the inevitable loss of Steinbach and James, which for James isn't that big of a deal, and Kelley Washington, who I believe could have taken over as the third receiver if/when Henry gets popped again and finally thrown out of the league. Kirkendall
Yea, but they are just now entering a period where they can do something. They couldn't sign players until today and the draft is just under two months away.
