DuffMan
http://www.nfl.com/combine/story/10026017Leon Hall ran a 4.38Chris Houston ran a 4.35 (benched 225lbs 27 times) Michael Griffin ran a 4.41Good news for the bengals in my mind
Kazkal
4.35 was official.....I WANT LANDRY "jizz"Impressive time by Hall but he sure doesn't play like a 4.
hrod382
As if the chances were small enough there is now zero chance we get Landry
Kazkal
I know I was hoping he'd run a 4.5 so we had a chance at him Diden't huff only run a 4.38? and whitner about same? *** damn do I want landry Griffin had preatty impressive time for a guy of his size though too. hrod382
Yeah I think Grffin has good enough value at 18 to warrant the pick if Marvin thinks he's the guy.I'm not sold that the Jags wouldn't take Griffin over Nelson anyway. Kazkal
Ya let's hope that jags don't take safety...Griffin would be great too 4.5 preatty impressive a guy of his size.

rwalling
http://www.nfl.com/combine/story/10026017Leon Hall ran a 4.38Unfortunately, as the OSU and Michigan's bowl game showed, he still can't cover good wideouts.I love the Landry idea. Unfortunately, no way he makes it to 18.
Kazkal
I dont think Landry falls past Atlanta. He could go @ 5,7,8,9 so he might not even make it to the falcons.Well more then good wideouts you just know he doesn't play fast like Houston or Jjoe do. schweinhart
Landry was already surefire as an interchangeable safety but his "God Bless Me -- 4.35" shoes showed he's got the blazing speed to be even more versatile than he was used at LSU.He won't last to #10.Griffin ran about what Nelson did but I still don't see Griffin getting the nod at free safety over Nelson. Griffin struggled badly making the shift from FS with Michael Huff beside him to the SS position Huff had. Griffin gets lost in space too much in underneath coverage and has nowhere near the ball skills that Nelson has. Nelson still has the frame and aggression to get considered a SS over time and with his better slot coverage skills should still be considered the better interchangeable safety between the 2. I can't see the Jags passing on him at 17.At 18, Griffin would be all right but the pick would force Madieu to corner and he is a better interchangeable safety with some slot skills than he is a CB. schweinhart
I agree that Landry will be long gone, but I think we have a realistic shot at Houston.Funny how that works I'm not holding my breath just yet but I think the Bengals could still have a realistic chance at Jamaal Anderson. For all the sudden hype on him that shot him up in the media to a Top 10 pick, he ain't done nothing since. And teams will keep reviewing the game tape and they'll see some things that will make them wonder just how great he really is right now....not that he isn't the FREAKBEAST but he's been somewhat overrated IMO. Teams picking in the Top 10 will want the surest player they can find because busts are increasingly harder to bear and Jamaal Anderson is not a sure thing. Yeah, Mayoch mentioned that some teams see Anderson as a top#10 pick while others don't even have him graded as a 1st rounder. But it only takes one team, right? He also mentioned Chris Houston and Reggie Nelson as players that teams are split over....with both being graded as 2nd round prospects by plenty of teams. Stripes
I'm not saying I'd hate that pick, not at all, just see it as unlikely.I don't disagree, but if a prospect like Jamaal Anderson were to fall that far, he'd be very hard to pass on. I don't see the Bengals taking Carriker, C. Johnson, or Moses; but if one of the top two DEs lands in their lap... I doubt they let them get away. Whur CHad At?
I just dont think Houston, or any CB are worthy of first round picks this year. This years class is a bit overrated.
Kazkal
How was tye hill worth 1st but not houston? What about Jjoe? who started getting his love after the combine. was a junior with little college exerpiance.
schweinhart
Mayock also said he thought Houston would go between 15 and 18. But he also said he always had Houston as his #2 CB even though for the month before the combine Houston wasn't even listed in his Top 5.Houston would probably fit better for the Packers than Leon Hall. Al Harris got a 2 year extension but he's well on the wrong side of 30. Plus he's a bump and run corner like Houston and the Pack need a slot CB in the short term anyway. The ? is has either shown enough on the field or at the combine to convince teams they can go higher than #16. Or that they're better picks than Revis even though he's probably not up to their speed.I'd say Houston is easily the most tested in man coverage and against some of the best WRs in the draft class in Bowe, Jarrett, Meacham and Rice. So he's easily the readiest to jump right into the slot, which again bodes well for him for the Pack to take him even if Hall and Revis are still there. So Green Bay probably picks Houston if he's still there, leaving the Bengals to sift through Leon Hall, Ross and Revis if they want a CB. For what their defense is right now, I'd rather see them take Revis over Hall or Aaron Ross, but if Revis pops a Daymeion Hughes time, I'd be less sure about Revis. When Deltha is done, JJoe can man that spot and be trusted on an island so long as he doesn't keep getting stoned and the weakside spot can be left to a CB with average foot speed but physical play vs. the run and sound coverage skills. schweinhart
Yeah they got some Batman burnout Could be right. That's part of the rap with Houston....is he Batman or is he Dunta. My guess is a little bit of both.Hall should be able to swing slot and either way, Woodson is also up there in corner years. The Pack could very well view Hall as a safer pick than Houston.
