Thats only if the 90 day stands...

If Thurman complies with his treatment program and has no further alcohol-related offenses, the 90-day sentence could be reduced when he returns to court, Burlew said.

There was a segment on Cold Pizza this morning with the writer from the Cincy paper Mark Curnute or something like that, anyway they were talking about the Bengals with all the off the field issues, and the ? was brought up if OThurman would be back...and the newspaper guy said that it is highly unlikely that OThurman would be back according to what he has heard...

I've had friends who gotten a couple of DUI's and never got more then a day or 2,So I really woulden't say it's because odell is a athlete just minus hurting someone DUI's don't get you alot of jail time....

I believe his suspension last year covers this arrest and prosecution. If not the NFL will surely face a grevance from NFLPA and will likely lose. For 1st dui, his sentence will likely be suspended and he will be put on probation for 2 years if he complies with the order and rehabs but who knows.....

What kinda BS is this, a good friend of mine was caught DUI and only had to pay a 900$ fine, spend 2 nights in jail and his liscence being suspended for 6 months.

why is he getting such a big sentence for his DUI?

It's just a scare tactic... He'll only serve the standard few days if he attends all the alcohol rehab classes they send him to.

No but Ray Lewis murders someone and gets away with it, Michael Irvin does mass coke and gets a slap on the wrist, Chris Henr already has gotten away with a few things

Where in the hell do you get that Ray Lewis murdered someone?

I have seen you post a number of stupid things but this may be your masterpiece of stupidity!

Which will be good and hopfully help odell.

Indications out of Cincinnati are that the Bengals are staying in touch with Thurman during his stint in rehab.

According to published reports Wednesday, Thurman admitted to a Sept. 25 DUI charge and was ordered by Judge John Burlew to pay a $250 fine and spend 90 days in jail. With Thurman reportedly in an alcohol treatment program, the sentence stands to be significantly reduced in June pending completion of the program.

Still hope.

Not arguing against the fact that there is a good amount of stupidity floating around here... but:

Lewis did indeed have murder charges dropped by agreeing to testify against 2 other defendants.

Ray's just as guilty as OJ... Odell will not spend 90 days in jail... He'll be back for camp!

His admission that he's an alcoholic and what appears to be some honest facing of facts and accepting responsibility for his actions is some of the first positive signs we've seen out of Odell in a while. Maybe, just maybe, Marvin's tough love is starting to pay off and Odell might turn his life around. That's good news whether he ever plays for the Bengals again or not.

for any person - a DUI usually has a 90 day sentence - it is suspended if the weekend hotel program and probation is completed - if probation is violated then they will put that person in jail - Jails would be packed if DUI offenders actually had to go to jail.

Lets hope - At least he admitted to something. Good news in my book. Still clinging to the slim tiny chance of having Odell, Pollack, and Perry for next year. I know Ill be let down but hey - Palmer made it back last year.

He won't get 90 days, if any. It's probably a motivator for him to complete his alcohol program - which I'm glad to hear he's apparently voluntarily entered.

I think when your life is on the line, some people react well and straighten up and become the person they could/should be. Others disintegrate under such pressure (Britney Spears).

We'll see with Odell. From what I hear, he is in terrible shape though, and has a bit of a long road ahead of him still, to get back to the NFL level of fitness he was in coming out of college.

Honestly he looked terrible last preseason, not even like the same player.

So, hard to count on him, and the Bengals' should not either and look to replace him - his return to form would just be a huge bonus.

Video was a good watch,I really hope odell turns his life around even if he goes to another team i'd be a fan of his from how entertaining of a defensive player he was...He doesn't look be in bad shape but over year without football will take him awhile to get back in football shape...hopfully thats something he starts on now rather wait till he's reinstated.

Whoa -- deja vu. I think OT says what he thinks he needs to say to sound contrite. I also think he's not yet reached his low point yet. My gut tells me that day will come after he no longer has any chance of making a living playing football. I hope that you guys are all correct and I'm wrong on this one -- I really do. I just don't think I am. God speed OT.

I rarely post, as witnessed by my 102 posts in over 3 years. I enjoy reading what the other fans are thinking. I generally only post in reaction to something stupid.

Whur's assertion that Ray Lewis is guilty of murder was just that, stupid!

But it does not stop there.

Derek proceeds to defend Whur's outrageous assertion by posting an article that clearly states that the only evidence of wrongdoing on Lewis's part was that he told his homies not to say anything, which any attorney would do, and he gave an incomplete statement to the police. In my mind the only thing wrong is the incomplete statement to the police. That may support an obsruction of justice charge but it is laughable to suggest that it adds up to murder.

Mr. AGreen, if you think that Ray is as guilty of murder as O.J., you obviously know nothing at all about either case. There was a giant mountain of evidence pointing directly to O.J. and O.J. alone.

O.J murdered those two people.

Ray obstructed justice at worst.

I will now go back to reading unless someone comes up with another silly defense for Whur's baseles assertion.

Making cracks about ray stabbing people is just that poking fun at the subject.s...really Ray is a stand up guy if you ask any players in the nfl and watching in his on words on him makes it hard not to like the guy just because of what he puts in to football and his beliefs.wish I had a mom like his /cry
