ESPN announced that Michael Irvin, who had been an NFL analyst for ESPN since 2003, is no longer with the network.

ESPN Communications Vice President Josh Krulewitz issued a statement, saying "We thank Michael for his contributions to ESPN and wish him well."

Irvin retired in 2002 after 12 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame during Super Bowl festivities two weeks ago.

I heard Bill Parcells is intrested

I hope they get rid of Jaws now, I cant stand that dude

Jaws actually watches film and breaks stuff down to a tee, the only other one who breaks down film as good as him is Merril Hoge, at first I tried hard not to like him with the old Pittsburgh connection until I realized the guy knows what he is talking about most of the time. Bill Parcells is stale as hell, I want somebody with a personality Mike Ditka fits the old coach role. You should not have a pregame show with a bunch of guys who was here before the NFL merged. Bill is only good for quotes when he is coaching and you are questioning him about his team.

You have to have somebody on that panel that has played in the last ten years or less, Steve Young is not on the panel that much so he does not count. I actually like Michael Irvin because you did not know what was coming out his mouth, so that made me tune in waiting to hear the nonsense that was coming out of his mouth. I'm not in to boring shows I like guys who question the players such as when they put Tiki on the spot that would not have happened if Michael Irvin was not there, I know Tom said something too but that was only after Michael Irvin spoke up. Michael fault was that he let his relationship with T O get in the way of criticizing the guy. He was not the smartest dude but do you need that when you are talking about football, no, you need that when you are talking about politics.

I wonder who they'll put in his place... Will they try to maintain a similar collection of personality and bring in another annoying bastard, or will they pursue some real football intellect?
Shannon Sharpe.

Shannon Sharpe still has a job, Sterling is the one without a job and ESPN got rid of him long time ago.

sterling is with the nbc job

I really hope this is a joke. The only one out there worse than Michael Irvin is Shannon Sharpe, IMO. It's funny this happened when just a day or two ago I posted a message about Irvin and Sharpe being awful sportscasters.

You're joking, right? Bill Parcells had, by far, the most personality of any coach in the league last year. His press conferences were certainly the most entertaining (except for Dennis Green's awesome blow-up), and he almost always gave a couple of good soundbites. To top it off, he can actually speak well and finish off an intelligent thought, unlike one Mike Ditka. I would love if Parcells was the new choice to join the crew on ESPN.
