Who deserved MVP?

Recommended Posts

I think Peyton did a good job in the Super Bowl, but didnt deserve the MVP. The media who has been riding his nuts for years made him the MVP, completley ignoring other players who deserved it. Dominic Rhodes, and Joseph Addai, who IMO should of shared the MVP, if that is possible. THe Colt's wouldn't have won that game without those two, who completley changed the game. Peyton just won it because he is Peyton and is a big name player. Rhodes and Addai got ROBBED. Besides Peyton doesnt need another damn car, he prob. has 50 of those cars.

So what do you all think?

Well, Rhoads and Addai kind of cancel each other out, since they won't give co-MVPs and you can't really choose between the 2 of them. Nobody else really stood out above the rest of the team. Peyton, while he didn't have a spectacular "Peyton Manning" game, he played well and had some big plays, like the 1st TD to Wayne, the play where he rolled out and threw a nice completion and looked like Ben Roethlisberger or (Good) Jake Plummer, etc. I can see giving him the MVP, if only because nobody really stood out enough to take it from him.

Tarik Glenn or Jeff Saturday were the MVPs in my mind, but unfortunately they would never pick a lineman.

I said that right before they named Manning MVP. It should have been one or the other (I hate Co-MVPs, I think it defeats the purpose of naming an MVP). Probably should have been Saturday since he is the leader of the O-Line. It's pretty obvious that the offensive line won the game for them.

I would have gave it to Bob Sanders or Kelvin Hayden, they both had huge plays that pretty much won the game for the colts. Hayden had a bunch of tackles and a huge INT for a TD that pretty much ended the game. Sanders had a jarring tackle on Benson that caused a fumble in the backfield and a INT to go along w/ a few tackles. I think they should have split the MVP. It was the colts defense that carried the team throughout the whole playoffs, they deserve more hype than what they are getting. Peyton through for 2 TD's and 7 INT's throughout the playoffs, hardly admirable. Peyton is a great regular season QB but he is one of the worst playoff performers. The ideal of Peyton winning the MVP was preconcieved if Indy won. The defense definately deserved the MVP.

It's because he's white...

jk.

It's hard because nobody had an outstanding game that was head and shoulders above anyone else. Rhodes only had 13 carries, Addai was like 66 yards rushing and 77 receiving (have to give some credit to Manning as those are catches), Harrison had like 5 catches for like 65, Wayne was like 2 for 83 and a TD, Clark was like 4-5 for maybe 50 yards, Sanders would be closest as he forced a fumble and had an INT but I don't know how many tackles he had. Manning got it because he controlled the flow of the game and got the offense into good plays. The one INT to me wasn't that bad - think about it, they would have had to punt on the next down and do you really want to punt to Hester after he just returned that kickoff for a TD - like 5 plays earlier? Those return teams would have had a bunch of confidence at that point. They got the ball at the 35, to me really not that bad of a play. The weather kept him from having a good down the field game and he was smart enought to recognize that (as evidenced by Grossman's canned hams). In the SB another position player is going to have to have a HUGE game for the QB to not get the MVP. It's that way in every SB game - goes back to too much blame when losing, too much credit when winning scenarios.

After all, he is the one that has be jumped on with both feet for not being able to win the big one - you can't criticize and then not turn around and praise appropriately when they defy you belief.

i think Peyton did deserved MVP

Only because his regular season performance got them there, and like Vol_Bengal said...

Those two factors dropped it into Peytons lap IMHO.

How so? because he puts up big numbers durring the reg season?

He choked in every playoff game and he played below avg in the superbowl,I'm sorry but he was far from MVP of the superbowl.

He'll rex could have played just as well as manning if he had mannings Oline & WR's.
