HoosierCat
http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=5849Dunno anything about the guy. Hope he likes dealing with divas!
derekshank
Dunno anything about the guy. Hope he likes dealing with divas! No doubt. I know that it's a league wide thing with the WR position... but it seems like we've got more than our share. Most teams have just 1 or maybe 2. It seems like every WR but Tab Perry is a diva for us.P.S. Tab Perry being back is one of the things I am looking forward to the most next year. He's going to be a great red zone receiver for many years.
jjakq27
Is this the guy with the prior Marvin connection?

GapControl
He has experience... I wonder why he never stuck long term anywhere.... his longest seems to be with the Browns under Billicheck.
Stripes
He has probably never dealt with such a broad variety of personalities... This'll be as challenging a receiver job as any.

Will still be nice to have Tab back, of course.
Kazkal
Aye Tab and Holt will both be great to have....now only if we could find punt returner!
jditty47
he hasnt heald his job like most coaches in the league, regime change or he moved on for promotion. he was last in the league as an OC for the saints, him being our WR coach is a good move. his resume is extensive which is a good thing and i dont think hes had this kind of talent under him. he took worse recievers to very good status' before, m intrigued to see what kind of changes in technique he can make for chad, TJ, and especially henry to make them better than they already are. walshfan
Hue Jackson was one of my favorite coaches on the team.. excellent job with the corps and all. That said ..sometimes its time for a change in leadership.. getting a different perspective on route running, concentration, conditioning and so on when heard from a different boss may make a player even better.I think they learned all they could from Hue now lets see if Mike can add to their skills.....PSSame could be said for allot of the other coaches as well! agreen_112
Sheppard sounds good. What I like the most about this pick up is that it was all Marvin. This proves that MB is letting Marv run things for the most part... Now I just hope he whips these recievers into shape!
schweinhart
Nice choice.A Marvin man and a league roadie to boot with OC experience.Brat better stiffen his drink.I like his Kitna connection the best. Sheppard might be the next best thing to Kitna for being there for Palmer.

jditty47
“Shep’s football knowledge is second to none,” said Jon Kitna, the former Bengals quarterback who took Seattle to the playoffs under Sheppard. “Hue took them to one level and Shep can take them to a different kind of level now that they’ve had experience in the league. To be veterans like Isaac Bruce and Torry Holt.” just wanted to add this quote, even though its from kitna, it is what could happen now that they arent entirely me me me me me anymore. delhole
Is this the guy with the prior Marvin connection?Yeah. Sheppard hired Lewis for a couple college jobs. So basically if he sucks at his job he'll be around as long as Lewis is because ML doesn't want to hurt his friends feelings I'm not going to hate on the guy yet BUT you have to think the Bengals would want to sign the most experienced, most succesful WR coach available to coach the most potent squad of WRs in the league, right? It just seems like an amazing coincidence that the best guy available for the job happens to be a friend of ML. Not to mention he's been out of work for a year. Hopefully it really is just a coincidence and not favoritism.....
HoosierCat
I'm not going to hate on the guy yetBut why not? Cmon, take a chance! Get ahead of the crowd. Position yourself to be the first to say "I told you so." We're all hating on something this offseason. Why should Shep get left out just 'cause he's the new kid? Let's make him feel welcome! Hey Shep! You SUCK!
