Really too bad if it happens, losing a good coach while Bresh hangs around.

How much will it affect the WR corps if he leaves for Atlanta? You need to someone to be the good cop opposite of ML being the bad cop.

He gets some credit for the prolific passing O in Cincy but not alot. If he gets the job, its because of who he knows, not what he knows.

And who else will go above and beyond the job description like Hue did when he had Dopey Henry living at his house. Only rub with Hue will be can he actually manage a game because he can definitely handle receivers. He might be a master developer too if he was the one who was able to transform Housh from a lacksadaisical kamaze into one of the best possession receivers in the league like he is now. He'd have a lot of potential too work with in Mike Jenkins, Ashley Lelie and Roddy White.

I guess we don't have to let him go minus a HC job till 2007...but if we wanted to look good and be able find a good replacement would mybe be better to let him walk now.

Well, like PFT mentioned, assistants might be unwilling to come to Cinci if they think management will block their progress, and the change from WR coach to OC would qualify. He deserves the shot, let him go if he wants it.

You know what pisses me off the most about Hue leaving? It's not that he's leaving, I'm happy for him. I'm pissed because we should've f**king promoted him to OC. I mean here we are with an absolute gem, as in CJ's words, and we just let him go.

This is just more proff that the idiot Brat isn't going anywhere and the Bengals offense will be just as bad next year! Why in the hell do you just let a guy like Hue go? That blows me away! We should offer him the OC job right f**king now before he signs that contract...

Man... you think some people on this board want Palmer to throw 595 yards a game and Rudi run for 250... just like TecmoBowl.

Guess what? The NFL is not a video game.

I was worse that 2005's, yes. It scored significantly fewer points and had significantly fewer big games. The Bengals scored 30+ point 6 times in '05, but just 3 times in '06. They scored 20 or fewer 6 times in '06 versus 4 times in 2005.

Meanwhile, the D allowed the fewest points since 2001. And the last time before that a Bengals D gave up fewer that 2006's 331 points was 1993. In other words, last year's was the second-best scoring D in the last 10 years, and third-best in the last 13. Pretty good considering we paid the football equivalent of $3.99 at Wal-Mart for it.

Tell that to Chad Pennington  And yet he managed to get his team enough wins to crack the playoffs.

How about Palmer quits overthrowing receivers, stops fumbling, has done with game killing picks, leads his team to more than 3 points after 3 quarters with the team's playoffs life on the line and figures out a way to get his team to the playoffs. I'd settle for 150 yards passing and Rudi running for 50 every week if it meant the Bengals get the W every week. The way the Bengals are built, though, the team's success all rests on the shoulders of #9. Maybe it's just too much.

I'd be insane to claim the 2006 offense was as good as or better than the 2005 offense. Still, they finished 8th in total offense and 8th in scoring. Disappointing certainly, but not bad.

Honestly it says a lot about the Bengals Coordinators when a positions coach gets hired off the staff into a Coordinators position before any of the guys that are already Coordinators get interest.

Also what does it say about the University of Cincy that they wouldn't hire Hue for their coaching position but the Falcons would promote him to Offensive Coordinator. That Nancy lady they have as the Dean is a total idiot.

Bratkowski was considered for the Lions head coaching job last season, and I hear tell his name is still in that mix around the league (although he isn't as highly sought after as the better known coaching prospects). Bresnehan, on the other hand, they probably avoid like the plague.
