HoosierCat Posted January 1, 2007 Author Report Posted January 1, 2007 Looks like Saban will stiff Miami and leave for the 'Bama gig...http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2716394 Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Saban said he had no intrest in the Bama job, liar. He wasn't a Pro coach, he only belongs in the collegiate levels. I think Chuck belongs there too.Next up, Art Shell. I heard Lions fans want Rob Marinelli gone too, go figure. Quote
DC_Bengals_Fan Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Saban said he had no intrest in the Bama job, liar. He wasn't a Pro coach, he only belongs in the collegiate levels. I think Chuck belongs there too.Next up, Art Shell. I heard Lions fans want Rob Marinelli gone too, go figure.Yeah, if you believe a coach when he says he's not leaving, you're gullible. That was his way of saying "up your offer."Shell should stay. D is getting better, they have no QB, RB, or receivers who care. Bear in mind Davis was criticized for firing Shell too early last time. The Raiders are in bad shape due to years of bad, cap-busting and draft-pick-depleting deals. It will take more than a year to fix, and will take a year or two like they just saw before getting better. But Shell will get rid of the s**theads if given a chance. Make him get a real OC and let him stay. Why Marinelli should pay for Millen's mistakes I have no idea.Appears Mora's gone too. Think he wants to be a DC for a couple pf years until the UW job opens up? Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 1, 2007 Author Report Posted January 1, 2007 The Falcons fired Mora.Yup. Didn't waste much time, did they?http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2716540 Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted January 1, 2007 Report Posted January 1, 2007 Marvin should thank God he doesn't work for the Falcons. Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 1, 2007 Author Report Posted January 1, 2007 Marvin should thank God he doesn't work for the Falcons. Marvin...Falcons...why does that ring a bell? I have this vague memory of them denying Marvin permission to talk to one of their coaches for our DC job. Was that '03 or '05? Or is my memory just busted? If it isn't and that guy is still there, he may be out soon...and if Bresh gets canned...?EDIT: OK, yeah, I'm not nuts, here it is, from '03...http://archive.sportingnews.com/nfl/articl...117/451683.htmlLewis is again searching for a defensive coordinator after the Atlanta Falcons blocked secondary coach Emmitt Thomas from leaving Friday.Thomas is still in Atlanta, per the falcons' site...http://www.atlantafalcons.com/team/coachBio.jsp?id=1921 Quote
Kazkal Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 CHUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!! (PRZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!))))))))))))Mora got axed ..........Cardinals interveiwing Norm Chow...I think he'd be intresting HC for them with their offensive power and having leinart as the QB....Titans would take big hit because chows a awesome Coordinator. Whur CHad At? Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 Here is what is going to happen:Arizona hire Norm Chow as head coach, to reunite with Matt Leinart, the team will still suck.Falcons will hire Ken Whisenhut as head coach because he was a former Falcon player and Atlanta native.Bill Cowher will retire, and the Steelers will try to lure Marvin Lewis over, but they wil hire Mike Singletary as head Coach.More predictions to come as more stuff happens... Kazkal Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 Arizona hire Norm Chow as head coach, to reunite with Matt Leinart, the team will still suck.I'll have to disagree if they can get a offensive line they very well could be this years saints...I say we tag steinbach and try trade him cardinals, raiders or lions for a 2nd or 3rd Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 Looks like Saban is leaving, I think Russ Grimm could go here, thus further weakening the Squeelers... Quote
jackbauer Posted January 4, 2007 Report Posted January 4, 2007 I would take Mora as a coordinator for us until the UW job opens Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 4, 2007 Author Report Posted January 4, 2007 Looks like the Jags figured out what we already knew...from Curnutte...After an 8-8 season, Jaguars coach Del Rio fired three members of the offensive staff, including former Bengals assistant and quarterback Ken Anderson. Del Rio said none of the team's quarterbacks have progressed to an elite level.I loved Kenny a a player but he's worthless as a QB coach. Quote

Del Rio said none of the team's quarterbacks have progressed to an elite level.I loved Kenny a a player but he's worthless as a QB coach.I think an indicator of Kenny not being able to develop QB's was the lack of improvement from Akili Smith. Now that he was fired in Jax, he will have a hard time getting another coaching job in the NFL. Sorry, Kenny. Great QB, not so great coach. Quote
HoosierCat Posted January 4, 2007 Author Report Posted January 4, 2007 Everyone's favorite rumor site, PFT, says the Raiders will poop-can Shell today. No big surprise if true. Quote
MacD BengalFan Posted January 4, 2007 Report Posted January 4, 2007 Everyone's favorite rumor site, PFT, says the Raiders will poop-can Shell today. No big surprise if true. While it may not be a big surprise, it shows how screwed up Al Davis is for not allowing Art Shell to make any improvements to the team. As long as Al Davis is the CEO of the Raiders, they will never have a chance of being successful because of the instablity of he has created within the franchise with the constant turnover of the coaching staff. They are a dying team that no one will want to coach or play for. Quote

Whur CHad At? Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 Source: Shell set to depart as Raiders' head coachBy Michael SmithESPN.comOakland coach Art Shell is scheduled to meet with his staff at 2 p.m. ET Friday to inform them that he's done as the Raiders' coach, a team sorce told ESPN.com. Shell and owner Al Davis met for most of the day Thursday, but at this point, it is unclear whether Shell is resigning or is being fired. One of the early favorites to replace Shell is defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 ESPN also reporting on the tube that Shell is out, and that Cowher will announce his retirement tomorrow. Quote
Questfor31 Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 I'd like to see Mike Martz move into the coaching vacancy left by Denny Green in Arizona. That offense with Leinart at the helm, Boldin and Fitzgerald, with Leonard Pope and Edgerin James ... I'd be very interested to see what the greatest show on turf might look like wearing maroon and white. Quote
