Levi's Wheel Still Busted

From Hobson...

Left tackle Levi Jones is going to have to take a trip west to visit his doctor after he felt he couldn’t play in the second half. Jones, who played last week for the first time since his mid-October arthroscopic knee surgery, had been downgraded to questionable after missing practice Thursday and Friday.

It didn’t feel right at the beginning of the game and then I just figured (Andrew Whitworth) could do better,” Jones said. “I don’t think I gave it enough rest.”

Jones may or may not need another surgery, and this has to be a huge concern for a club that just gave Jones a $40 million deal at the beginning of training camp…

Not to get ahead of ourselves, but if this turns out to be something serious, it's going to really hurt watching Steiney and/or Justin walk after spending all that cap space on Levi. Here's hoping he just needs more rest.

Whitworth, Guy-chick, Andrews, Willie and Williams as an 0-line again next year, will not be good.

Signing Levi early for that much $ was probably a bad idea and I felt that way the day it happened. He gets hurt every year - should've let him prove out his value this season.

As it turns out, he would've come cheap due to not playing.

The Bengals' were foolish, as always, of not being able to predict his value was at an all-time high when they signed him, and most certainly would've gone down - if nothing else because you know he'll get hurt, at worst by the law of averages. And Willie should've gotten no more than a 2 year extension.

Levi basically didn't even play much at all this entire season.

He's not reliable physically.

I hope to God he can shake his Chris Perry syndrome and have a healthy year. It will be fairly critical.

Jones is overrated, in my humble opinion. Even when he was healthy, he was getting beat by the opposition. Being an avid reader of Bengals.com, it's difficult to buy in to all the propaganda concerning how great this guy is supposed to be for us. And, yes, you are quite correct: seems like he is always hurt. Waste of a lot of money.

Ah, how swifty we forget Rod "screen door" Jones.

Levi is a perfectly fine LT, and I have no problem with the money they gave him, as long as he can play -- which is the question of the moment. As to his past injury history, prior to 2006 he started 61 out of a possible 64 games, and like Willie will play through injuries.
