CarsonPalmer9
Tony is having a great year. I live near philly so i knew about him when he was with the eagles. He is younger and faster then reggie kelly so i think this guy should get a chance at being the starter. Also a happy belated birthday for Carson!!!!! Stripes
I like both, and am happy with rotating them as it appears the Bengals do. They'll never be much of a threat in the passing game, but both are excellent blockers and fit with Brat's offense very well.
HairOnFire
When choosing between Reggie Kelly and Tony Stewart the Bengals give the nod to Kelly because he's a far better blocker. When the decision is based upon who catches the ball better the Bengals prefer using a larger WR like Tab Perry, a player whose loss to injury was said to have wreaked havoc with the Bengals TE sets even though he isn't listed as a TE. I'm not against adding a TE in the draft, or better yet...free agency, but me in the camp that would like to see both players remain Bengals next season. Kelly seems to fill perfectly the block-first role the Bengals demand of their starting TE, and Tony Stewart seemed to be involved in every big play made this season by the Bengals special teams. ShulaSteakhouse
I won't miss Tony Stewart one iota if he leaves. They should be grooming a Kelly replacement and adding another option to the passing game arsenal - it sorely needs it at times.
HoTbOy
If TE's only thing was to block then we are fine but you also need that person to be able to catch, when everything is covered down field...I would love to have a JWitten, AGates, ACrumpler on this team... redsbengalsbucks
Simple answer is that he is not good enough to start.
Kazkal
He's a good character solid special teamer but ya hes a backup TE for a reason.... even backup on team that doesnt have very good tes.
HairOnFire
I'll throw this one in just for fun.Matt Schobel - 200615 games 12 Receptions 190 Yards 15.8 Avg. 1 TD Schobel's TD reception was the result of a 60 yard play where he wasn't blocked at the line and wasn't covered by anyone after he released. (Think blind squirrel/found nut.) Bonus GiggleKevin Walter - 200615 Games 17 Receptions 160 Yards 9.4 Avg. 0 TD Before anyone attempts to remind me of his incredible value on special teams....7 Tackles. jditty47
ya stewart is definately not a starter. hes great on ST's though - what 2 forced fumbles and a recovery or something this year? thats phenominal. Hes good depth. I say resign him and Kelly but GDI we need a recieving threat at TE -----BUT im thinking they might just use TAB as that next season and not go after one unless they lose kelly or stewart to Free agency. And kelly is great in our offense now, i now see his value with his blocking and his sometimes ability to make plays.
