Bengalhead
This took place months ago. But as we've seen, PFT will go to great lengths to stir the pot. Every team works players out every week. This is not a big deal, but due to all of the commotion around the arrests, PFT will certainly attempt to make a big dea out of it, or at the very least, take another shot or two at Marvin. Friggin jerka$$es.Per Lance's blog. . .Profootballtalk.comANOTHER TURD FOR THE BENGALS?Undeterred (or is it undeturd?) by the arrests of eight players this year, the Cincinnati Bengals worked out on Wednesday former Iowa State defensive end Jason Berryman.Berryman was not selected in the 2006 supplemental draft. He missed the entire 2004 season while serving 258 days in jail for theft and assault convictions.Though Berryman has not yet been signed, why would the Bengals even sniff around someone with a history of incarceration, given the stream of embarrassments that the franchise has faced this season?Clearly, coach Marvin Lewis has decided that talent trumps turdishness, and it looks like he'll continue to risk further tarnish to the team's reputation if, in the end, his troubled players might help to deliver a shining silver trophy. ShulaSteakhouse
True it was just another workout - but says a lot about Marvin that he's willing to look at another criminal.Marvin deserves the scrunity/criticism frankly. He has the best QB drafted in the last 4 years and he has one playoff loss to show for it, and 4-5 draft picks suspended or kicked off the team for being derelicts the last 3 years.I get more tired of Marvin's act every season. There is no lack of talent here - just a few bad apples and some really poor coaching and discipline. AMC
I get more tired of Marvin's act every season. If he pulls a 9-7 record out of this season he can be considered one of the best in the biz. In July I looked at the sched and the Carson situation and the arrests and said 6-10 would not be out of the question. If Cowher retires, Mike Brown will see Dan Rooney's caller-ID come up to ask about Marvin Lewis....
