Diesel Posted December 25, 2006 Report Posted December 25, 2006 Our team is cursed. The following is my evidence in chronological order:Exhibit A: '82 Super Bowl - stuffed 4 times in a row with a first and goal on the 3 (only ten defenders participated on 4th down)Exhibit B: '89 Super Bowl - Tim Krumrie, Stanley Wilson, Lewis Billups (missed int.)Exhibit C: The Lost Years - Mike BrownExhibit D: '05 Playoffs - Carson PalmerExhibit E: '06 Elimination Game - Missed F@&KING Extra Point Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted December 25, 2006 Report Posted December 25, 2006 Can't really argue with that - curse of Lewis Billups? Quote
Storm Posted December 25, 2006 Report Posted December 25, 2006 I would say it was a curse but since I don't believe in magic I will just blame the obvious and constantOwner and GM Mike Brown Quote
Who? Posted December 25, 2006 Report Posted December 25, 2006 Curse? You want to know a curse? Look at my Brownies for christ sakes. Quote
Bobcat Bengal Posted December 25, 2006 Report Posted December 25, 2006 I've said that before. It's the curse of Bo Jackson.Ever since we've injured him and destroyed his career....look at us. Quote

HoTbOy Posted December 25, 2006 Report Posted December 25, 2006 Yeah it does seem like the football gods are angry with the Bengals for something...I was a senior in high school in 82 when the Bengals went to the SB, and I lost my allowance for the week betting on that game...but it sure seem that this team is snakebit Quote

Diesel Posted December 25, 2006 Author Report Posted December 25, 2006 Maybe the Billups interception drop doesn't count as part of the curse. But it was a huge heartbreaking moment in Bengals history. And it was a ball that any mediocre college player would normally catch. Quote

Stripes Posted December 25, 2006 Report Posted December 25, 2006 We can blame our team's misfortunes on a "curse", or we can blame them on the team itself. This isn't Boston. Quote
cincykent Posted December 25, 2006 Report Posted December 25, 2006 One thing is for sure .... the BUNGLES are back!!! How many times in one game can you screw up big plays?? Palmer and Chad Johnson screwed up the most. Interceptions, penalties, dropped passes, etc. We all knew this was going to happen after they way they lost to Tampa Bay. Then they blew the Atlanta game, then to San Diego. Maybe this is what they need to get focused for next year. The 1988 Bengals came out on a mission after the disaster of 1987 and losing that wacky finish to the 49ers. Let's hope this leads to better things in the future. Quote
