Officials contributing to Bengals losses??

BULLDOGG

Recommended Posts

I have been a Bengals fan for almost 20 years and cannot remember a year (even the down years) in which there was worse officiating. There have been times where there were no calls (Kansas City, Atlanta), questionable calls (Baltimore, Tampa Bay) and what I consider to be blantant missed calls (Baltimore, San Diego) that have affected the outcomes of games. Many of these calls have occured during the final minutes and DESTROYED not only field position but also momentum. The latest example was yesterday during the San Diego game when Marlon McCree (whom the Bengals tried to sign this offseason) delivered not only the Pass Interference, but the Helmet-to-Helmet hit, that is supposed to be illegal in the NFL. Was it me, or did the officials miss that call? That cost the Bengals field position in the game and could have helped for a team that needed a touchdown on that drive, but had to settle for a field goal. McCree will probably be fined for the illegal hit and mark the second time in three weeks (Kearney in ATL being the other), that a player will be fined for an illegal hit that was not called during the actual game. Combined with the PI last week in Baltimore that more analysts agree was a missed call, despite the poor play, the Bengals could still be at least 6-3 or 7-2.

You know, agreen and others, it is possible to note that the officials calls have been agin' us more than for us without blaming the losses on the officials.

Between the officials, crappy bounces of the ball, the schedule, and injuries, it has been a difficult slog this year. That's all a part of the losing, along with the s**tty defense and inconsistent offense and horrific coaching.

The reason why our D has looked so pitiful is two players whom we counted on showing up and earning their paychecks: James and O'Neill. They are sorry! Our secondary was our strengthl, so I thought, when we got Dexter Jackson and had Madieu returning. Look at what Vick has done since looking like the best QB who ever lived against the Bengals two weeks ago: lost to the Lions and the Browns! The reason he looked so good against us is O'Neill and James. What underachievers!! Let the rookies play, at least they want to!!!! They both gave up yesterday, along with Mr. Henry and Ratliff. I wish the heck these guys with no heart would get cut!!!!!!

We've had times where refs helped us it happens

Yep. Think David Carr, 2005.

I will not criticize the refs for doing their job.

If thier job is to be correct and accurate and they fail to even come close with replay and all then they deserve to be critized because they are not doing thier job! :seehearspeak::thumbsdown:

They are trained and schooled in everything they do out there, and mistakes are going to happen on the fly in every game ever played. If any of us were to go through that training and take the field as a referee, we'd be making the same errors. We'd still be doing our job though.

The game is not perfect, and it never will be.
